Yes sir. But, the guntuber logic seems to defy reality that there are eleventy billion Glock 17s in circulation. What 40 years worth?

They ain’t going extinct anytime soon.

Going to the gun show tomorrow to look at Gen 6 Glocks, probably a G19.

Anyone have experience with a COA?
Is it a better option than an MOS?

TIA

The new Gen 6s do not use the older MOS system. The standard Gen 6s have a new optic cut that is half optic plate and half direct attachment. See https://us.glock.com/en/about/...ology/optic-mounting I don't have any personal experience with it yet, but it's bound to be better than the older Glock MOS system.

The older MOS optic plate system on the Gen 4s and 5s was annoying for every optic besides the Holosun SCS MOS, which was designed to mount directly to the MOS slide without using any plate. With this Holosun they're fine, but if you want to use any other optic the Gen 6 is bound to be better (because it would be tough for it to be any worse...)

COA is an option on a Gen 6, but you have to specifically order the COA version, and it can't mount other optics like a standard Gen 6. I don't have any experience with the COA, either Gen 5 or 6.

I like it, but I have some mixed feelings on it. On one hand, the optic itself is excellent. Housing to window size ratio is great, the glass is really clear and so is the dot, there's basically zero tint to it. Not being an open emitter, I like it better for carry because it's not packed with lint and dust (Arizona problems) after a few days. But. It essentially is what it is, and I have no options to change it to something else. Currently, I don't want or need to, and I still have a Gen 5 45 I got cut for RMR that has an SRO on it, and my 19X with the MOS system, so it's not like I don't have some options.

If and when I get another Gen 6, it'll probably be a standard 17 and not a COA. A 19 COA may have made more sense, but here I am.

Or buy one at a store that has them, like I did. Wink

Thank you for the quick responses Gentlemen.
I'm headed out to the gun show right now.
I may not purchase today, but I'll get some hands on research done.

I DID buy a(nother) Glock today. Cool

Again, thank y'all for your input.
I was able to sell my Ruger RXM for the asked price and put it towards the Gen 6 Glock 19.
That did soften the blow of the G19 price.

Comparing the COA with the gen 5 RMRs, the COA unit was a bit more compact.
Now I just need to learn how to shoot it. Big Grin

The medium backstrap seemed to have a good feel to it.

Nice! Yeah, without a backstrap, it’s just too slim for my hands. It’s amazing how much they reduced off the grip. I went right to the large backstrap, I need to take the medium to the range and see how it shoots with both.

I have two Gen 4's and have replaced them with P320\P365 pistols. I'm looking to fund some long range bolt guns so I'm getting rid of stuff I don't use.

I can't remember if I posted that I got a G617COA. But I've now shot it a bunch. The new frame is very nice for me (but I liked RTF). The optic is nearly perfect for this application. The trigger has to be the worst glock trigger I have ever shot, this from someone who owns a ton of them of every generation. I'm stunned how bad it is.

So many here love the great Glock, I have tried since Para brought this into the light of day to understand it but I do not. I have confessed this before, and sorta regrettably have never acquired one. May god have pity on my tortured soul.

I'm hoping mine gets better. I get to, what I feel to be a wall, only to follow with a fair amount of creep before the break. It's significantly more than any other Glock I own. It's not awful when I shoot fast, but slower deliberate shots accentuate it.

I don’t like Corvettes. I’ve driven every generation up to the C8. Why does this matter? Just because I don’t like Corvettes I am a car guy and know they are an incredible car in so many ways, from the history to the performance to the legacy. If you are a gun guy Glocks are similar. You don’t have to like them(there are plenty of reasons not to) but you have to concede they are a fantastic gun with a hell of a legacy.

I just gave my favorite Glock to my youngest. That and a Stopbox and a box of good ammo. Started off life as a Glock 23 that I hated. Got an aftermarket 19 optic cut slide, Overwatch trigger, mag well, old style recoil spring assembly, better sights, RMR, Vickers mag release and slide stop. My favorite Glock. I hope he appreciates it. When the 43X with factory 15’s comes maybe I will replace the hole in my heart. lol.

I have a 19.6 Coa and the only gripe I have is I wish they made the 49 or 17 slide on 19 frame coa version. Otherwise its great, I can track the dot without losing it in the window without a comp. I'm stock except for a minus connector. I dont hate the trigger but its never going to be a 1911 or 226.

I handled a Gen 6 with mounted COA yesterday. Felt good in hand but not to the point of getting rid of my Gen 5s. Saved me some $$$! FYI:
AIM Surplus had a big box of the new metal 43/48 mags on the counter for $25 each. I picked up a couple to test out.

They were selling G43X w/ COA pistols with the Glock 15 round mags at the gun show Sunday.
I didn't notice if the no optic pistols came with the 15 round mags.

I think I'll like this Gen 6, hope to get to the range this week.
All my other Glocks (2 17s, 19, 21, 26) are Gen 2 except for the G45.

Really? Glock doesn’t list Gen6 43x on their website.

I seem to remember one of the Glock guys in the media event when the Gen 6 debuted being asked directly if they were doing Gen 6 slimlines and he gave one of those “I can’t tell you, but yeah, those are coming” type answers.
