That picture is nothing like the MecGar dimpled metal Glock mags. I now question if MecGar has anything to do with that mag.

A word of advice: whatever sw4566 tells you about Glocks, you should consider it written in stone.
We're fortunate to have him here.

The Lipseyes pic is just a place holder.

Well that makes more sense. That picture threw me. I didn’t figure MecGar was all of a sudden going to start making plastic mags. No disrespect to sw4566.This message has been edited. Last edited by: pedropcola,

No change to the magazine catch is required. The new 43x/48 15 round magazines follow the form factor of the Mec-Gar magazines for the G17/19.

That is great news. My G19 MecGar mags work great and I suspect you guys won’t be able to stock enough of these new ones for quite awhile. These mags will be the pretty girl at the dance. Shield better have a plan B.

Sure looks like Glock is gunning for the low hanging fruit aftermarket stuff now. I think that “there’s no reason this shouldn’t be something we offer OEM” is a welcome shift in their mindset. I wonder what’s next.

What took so long? Glock's slimline guns have lost a ton of market share to all the other micro 9s on the market that are the same size or smaller than G43X/48 but with the same or greater capacity. Sig claims the P365 is the #1 selling gun in the US.

Welp Guess I'll be ordering a dozen.
For ME: DA/SA=Sig 9mm or HK P30 LEM 9 Striker fired= Glock 9mm If it's a .45= 1911 Suppressed= HK in .45 I like anything in 10mm

Looks like it took Mec-Gar to come up with a way to keep the polymer magazine release and still use metal magazines. Presenting the design to Glock must have been too good to pass up.
I'm interested in what the base plate is going to look like. Metal magazines are a first for Glock. It would be a great time to re-visit the base plates as well.

*******Paging Greg Cote********* Think we could get a Coming Soon Notify me option on the website for these new 43X mags?
Worked out great when the MecGar 17 and 19 mags were announced. I was able to get a few from the first batch received. Would like to grab a few off these.
Thanks!!

Care to provide some facts as to what “a ton of market share is”?

Could be nothing but after the news of 15 rd. magazines, it makes me wonder if Glock made some type of change.
I hope you’re right. The magazine release spring is too light for me. I’ve actuated it accidentally twice enough the mag was retained but dropped after the first shot.

One of the things to be mindful of with the magazine catch spring is that if you remove it from pistol, for instance to replace the magazine catch with an aftermarket one, and you bend the magazine catch spring at all, the likelihood of it not working increase. The spring should be perfectly straight with no bow in it at all.
A magazine dropping out after 1-2 rounds being fired is quite common with a bent spring.

I will definitely have to pick up some of those mags for my son and his 43X. Glad to see MecGar get involved making those mags.

Was going to buy a G48 for my son's birthday next month, may have to wait until the new mags ship with the 48s. He has a G43, so the 48 will be great for him, especially now with factory 15 rd mags.

I would buy that exact gun. Preferably not in that color but I would.
Is this where we get to stir the pot and declare the mighty G19 dead? lol. Of course it isn’t but I probably have bought my last G19. This and the 48 do everything I need in a friendlier to my hand sized package.
