Thanks, let us know if you hear back. I'm trying to decide if I should spend $40 on a backstrap for the 43X, or just wait. I'm going to get the GritGrips frame either way, but if it's months out I'll want something in the interim.

This is what I got from them a couple of weeks ago. But "early February" has kinda come and gone...

thanks for checking in. Yes, we are looking at early February for release – there will be a limited number on the first run so I’d recommend signing up using the ‘notify me’ feature on the product page. If you miss that batch, we’ll be fully stocked a few weeks later.

Email just received

The 43x frames haven’t completed production yet, we are expecting them within the next two weeks.

I won't be buying a Gen 6. I did not like the balance and the texture was unpleasant. I handled the 19 and 45. I'll just get another Ruger RXM.

See, that’s where you assumed. I have shot irons my whole life until last summer, so you probably have more rounds through red dot pistols than I do. I also learned to back in vehicles like a pro on a 26’ Aramark van about twenty years ago before backup cameras were a thing and never once tapped a loading dock, so… there’s that as well. I view these things as conveniences, not a crutch. If you’re ever in Phoenix, shoot me an email and I’ll take you out for a night shoot and you’ll get to see first hand how anything without a red dot is useless with NODs. Wink

I wasn’t directing the irons comment at you or anybody in particular. I was just wondering if there will be folks who come up 100% on dots who run into this.

Ohh I definitely see the benefits and I have….well more then one dotted pistol. I have to say I still enjoy shooting irons more but there is no denying the advantages a dot brings to the table. As far as carrying with an optic goes I’ve found it depends on the pistol and how the optic sits on it and against me etc.

Picked up the 43X today. I'm reminded of why I really liked the G48 I briefly owned. I had one of the originals with the matte nickel-whatever finished slide and non-railed frame, and a friend of mine really wanted it in trade for his Inox 92FS Brigadier, so away went the G48. Really glad to have a Glock in this form factor again. Going to go shoot it hopefully tomorrow, and order sights, holster, and some of those PSA Micro Dagger 15rd mags. I may not bother with a dot and all that, we'll see.

Yeah, when I saw it in the cabinet, it was an instant "I'll take it." This particular shop seems to often have great deals on used Glocks. This is the fourth or so I've bought from them in recent years.

Well, I can tell you the one I put on my M&P 5.7 is excellent. I probably won't be subjecting that one to carry, but I think I'm going to upgrade to one for my M&P 22X. With all the shit that blows backwards out of the chamber shooting suppressed .22, an enclosed optic makes a lot of sense. I know Olight gets a bad rap because the one guy who managed to kill himself with one of their flashlights, but for a pistol optic in that price range, the dot is clearer on the two I own than any Holosun I've ever owned. I was convinced that my astigmatism was just getting really, really bad, but it hopefully may be as simple as Holosun's quality going to shit. Razz

I also bought a Stealth Arms Shiv in FDE today to go with my 19X. Need to decide on which Surefire model to go with, but that's going to end up being the "everything except concealed carry" pistol. I've sold off nearly all of my other Glocks in the process of streamlining the collection of shit in the safe to just purpose-driven stuff. I have one Glock that I'll end up keeping "just because," and that's my Gen 2 19 - my first Glock. All the rest have either been sold, or are going up on the chopping block.

I broke 1000 rounds on the 43x today. I've only had one malfunction (failure to go all the way into battery) with an out of spec reload, so I'm going to blame that 100% on the ammo. The Osight is still going strong, hasn't shifted zero, and I'm loving the clear glass and enclosed emitter. The glass has proven easier to clean than the Holosun's, too...those tend to streak and scratch kind of easily. No such problems with the Osight yet. I'm almost ready to go buy a few more before people figure out how good this thing is and they start getting expensive.

I'm still struggling to learn the gun. My performance with it lags well behind what I can do with a bigger gun like my P229 or P320. The Kiral Defense backstrap does make a measurable difference, both in acquiring the dot and recoil management as a result of the larger surface area yielding better grip purchase. I took it to the range today and shot it both with and without the backstrap on the clock, and having it installed definitely helped.

I liked the idea of the NY1 spring, but in practice it makes the gun really hard to shoot well. If it had eliminated the wall things might have been different, but while I like how it stiffened up the pretravel, it made the wall worse. I'm back to the factory spring with the Ghost connector now, and that seems like the most shootable setup. And now the GritGrips frame should be here soon, so everything will change yet again.

If you work the gun like a part time job it can be shot well without a bunch of add ons.

Blasphemy!
Pure Blasphemy!

You don't understand, Man! I NEED those gold dot sights with actual GOLD! The reason I need GOLD is because they don't make DIAMOND ones yet! I NEED that custom, one of a kind back strap, full blown trigger job done by only J. M. Browning himself. It's my custom grips made for my paws and my paws only that make that gun fit in my hand so I can hit... things and stuff.

You're not wrong, but the grip angle thing is real, and my "full-time job" isn't changing so I want to get it as close as possible. I probably shouldn't even be messing with it, but I get bored and have to have a project to tinker with every so often.

If you didn't get an email about it, I saw a notice today that the earliest you can expect a Grit Grips slim line frame to ship is Mar 16.

Yep, got the update email today. While it's a bit of a bummer as I'm really looking forward to getting it in hand, I'm in Florida for the next week and a half so I wouldn't be able to pick it up anyway. I was kinda surprised to hear that the mold wasn't done yet, but at least they're making progress.

Hi my name is 2000Z-71 and I bought a Glock. It’s been 20 years since I last relapsed.

Actually I’ve had it for a few months now, a Gen 5 G20 10mm. Working with different loads, researching dots and MOS mounting systems hoping to have it ready for summer carry here in Alaska. It’s replacing both of my Sig X-Tens. There may or may not be a problem with the 320’s and uncommanded discharges but the thought of the gun going off in a chest holster while out in the middle of a lake in the middle of bumfuck nowhere Alaska in my kayak is absolutely terrifying.

I’ve always struggled with the grips on Glocks which is ultimately why I sold my G23 and G36, but the Gen 5 grip has fixed that for me. Definitely not as ergonomic as the X-Ten but a huge improvement from what they used to be. Trigger is not that bad, definitely better than the Gen 5 V that the shop currently has on the shelf.

2000Z-71: I put the Holosun SCS on my G20-5. Direct mount so no plate needed. And I had GlockStore comp it. Have not shot the comp mod yet, but the SCS is excellent so far.

Smudge, let me know how those micro dagger mags work for you on e you have a few hundred rounds through them. So far I'm digging the reliability of the factory mags, but willing to keep my options open, and the Dagger mags are cheaper than the Shields and don't require replacing the mag catch.

I don’t see the Holosun SCS mentioned too often, but I like the two I have. I use one on my daily carry P365XL. I’m sure it’d make a great pair with a Glock 20.
