Have: Gen 1 Glock 35 in .40 cal.

Want: to drop it down to 9mm so my wife and sons can handle it a little bit better.

From my research, I found several posts stating that all that's required is a G19 barrel and magazine. Is that really all it takes?

Seems like there would be more to it.

Glock 7 barrel will fit. But it's not steel and is probably expensive.

They're from Glock's new boutique:

You would be better off to buy one of the .40 to 9 conversion barrels from an aftermarket source then simply trying to drop in a 9mm factory barrel.

Your screen is too small Wink

Plain old iPhone 7 pictures. I just started hosting with Imgur, used Photobucket for years.

It appears that Imgur doesn't downsize pics like Photobucket did.

Used the quote feature from this website and cut out all but one of his pictures.

I have no idea how to size them; just quoted him.

While we're glockin'

Any word on gen 4 G30s, or Gen 4 G36?

I've become spoiled by the Gen 4's. I don't really like the Gen 3's anymore.

People are trying to wish upon us the gen 5's. I would appreciate finishing the lineup of Gen 4's
There are Gen 4 .45GAPs for crying out loud.

Everything went through OC Custom Coatings here in OC, CA.

They did the urban camo (hard to see in pics) Cerakote on the slide and frame, and they installed the Deus trigger and magwell (which is also Cerakoted).

They have local partners for the slide work and the frame work. I think Stone's Custom Glocks did the frame, to be honest I can't recall who did the slide.

The work is top-notch, though. I'm very happy with the result.

Just waiting on Deus to finish up a batch of barrels, so I can get my barrel and guide rod...

Yeah. I was tempted by one. Really want the S model in Gen 4. All the parts should be on the shelf to make.

Why not the 34?
I was under the impression it was basically a 17L with a better trigger>>>

I already have a couple 34's.
The 17L has a longer slide/bbl than the 34.
They have yet to release one in gen4.

The 17L has a longer barrel/slide. 6.02" barrel, compared to the G34's 5.31"

The 17L was the original longslide. It was released in 1988, back in the Gen 1 days. When it wouldn't fit in the IDPA/USPSA "boxes", they later came out with the shorter G34 to conform to these competition requirements.

The G34 proved to be more popular, so they eventually partially discontinued the 17L, although they still do occasional small batches of Gen 3 17Ls.

Original Gen 1 17L:
