You will buy a Glock
Many competition shooters use these to help them shoot faster double taps as the gun will stay on target better due to the gases escaping from the ports and keeping the gun down or on line.

Compensated barrels also have a large downside.
Police officers and the military don't use them because they will blind you in low light or night settings because of the more spread out flash caused by the ports making them a useless self defense weapon.

They also cause a large carbon buildup on your firearm near the ports which may tarnish the finish.

It's really up to the shooter, and the intended use of the pistol.

Makes sense. I think I may be more suited by the normal version. Thanks.

Gen 3 G33 for my carry piece, and a G34 for accurate fun.

Still love my Sig's though.

That's pretty interesting bux4life1.
I happen to have owned your list at some point .... minus the M&P, which I recently sold to fund my Gen4 19.

Oh that's 3/4Flap's list. I only added the Red Ryder BB gun Cool

I would like to see that. It seems that the Gen2's are more coveted these days so maybe the Gen5's will have exchangeable front straps as well.

During our last duty pistol purchase we were offered a choice of the G21, G21SF, or G21C. Several of the officers chose the 21C as their duty weapons.

We did extensive testing with regards to nighttime firing (it is dark a whole lot during winters up here....Dec - Feb we only get 2.5 - 4.5 "daylight" hours, and it's "dusk" for half of that).

We did not find the compensated barrels to provide any greater degree of night blindness than those weapons without the compensated barrels. You DO have to be careful with them when firing close to the body though.

FWIW, YMMV.

This was demonstrated in pic form on another forum where the comped bbls did of course show a blast above the slide but the uncomped barrels showed a circular blast significant enough it was hard to say the comped bbl would have been more problem. I wonder what a high pressurehigh expansion ratio cartridge would deliver?

Here is a shot of the Baker-2 Nuclear Test, Frenchman Flat, 2 February, 1951. Note how it appears quite similar to the firing of a round of RWS 124 FMJ from my G19, Backyard, 2012 that follows.

Wink

AKCOP is on it. Flash happens, even with the little 19.

I too don't care for the gill serrations on the
RTF Glock's. As I posted before I foolishly traded off my G17 RTF a few months back. I now bought a complete brand new RTF G17/22/31 frame and I just sent away for a used complete Gen 2 G17 slide. I was thinking of getting a mew complete G31 slide but now I think I will just go all in and buy a new in box G31 RTF off Gunbroker. This thread is a good thing.

Yeah, the G17/22 RTF2 was offered only with the curved serrations. Glock published advertisements showing a G17 or G22 RTF2 with straight serrations, but I don't think any exist, not unless they're parts guns.

The G19/23 RTF2, however, was offered with both straight and curved serrations. I believe the reason for this is that the G19 and G23 being so popular on the civilian market, the initial lot of curved serration slides was exhausted, and production of the RTF2 continued using standard G19/23 slides.

I got a G32 RTF about a year ago with no gill/curved slide serrations. The G31 RTF I am looking at has none as well. My G19 RTF is the only one I have left with them. They just don't grip on my thumb and pointer finger as well as the standard straight ones. I will hang on to it in case in becomes a Glock collects piece some day. Wink

IIRC the G31/32 RTF2 came after the G17/19/22/23 RTF2, and that's why you see conventional slides on those pistols. I looked high and low for a G17 RTF2 with a conventional slide and there was none to be found.

I really shouldn't have sold that 34.

That explains why could not find one. Did the G21 SF RTF come out about the same time as the G31/32 RTF? I know Glock did not make very many.

No, no. I had a G34 with a Bar-Sto stainless barrel.

Picked up a gen 3 Glock 30 yesterday at a local gunshow! Glock calls it "The .45 Fist in a bag" I call it a cool little pistol.
Next on the list, a gen 4 32. Dale
