You will buy a Glock

MSG21You will buy a Glock
I've often thought about selling my G27 to fund the purchase of something else.
Currently eyeballing the SIG P229 (caliber undecided).
I can never seem to bring myself to give up the Glock. Thousands of rounds through it without a single hiccup. This thing just "works".
The P229 will come, but not at the sacrifice of my Glock.

think-macAgreed. The Glock 27 is a fantastic semi pocket pistol (Width is the killer), but to me, after more than 2 magazines, it is too punishing. (The G26 is better suited to that size-My opinion of course)
Putting a grip extender on the G27 defeats the purpose of it's grip length, so you might as well have bought the G23.
The SIG P229 in my opinion, is a much better pistol to fire the 40SW out of.
I've come to the conclusion in my old age, the the Glock platform is best in 9mm, not so much in 40SW.

soggy_spinout "...Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell GLOCK..."Sadly not this year...got busy with other diversions and the LGS sold the 30SF I was eyeballing, and now I'm too caught up in picking up a Custom Shop CZ. I will say that one LGS did have a factory reconditioned 22 that has a really nice trigger (for a basic, non-smithed Glock, that is), but the polymer receiver texture just felt too worn down and smoothed.

THAT was the main reason I traded in my XD(m) for the P226.
Too bad, because in the
real world, Glocks shoot like a house afire, and last and last and last.
But, now you've got some slow-motion video in your head, showing you things that make you feel all icky, but in reality matter not.
That's messed up, Buckwheat.

rifmonWow, probably ALL polymore guns have that rippling if you were to take a video of shots fired from them. That's what makes them so nice to shoot! The polymore absorbs a lot of the recoil!
I had a GLOCK 27 about 14 years ago. It was a great gun but I always need a change from time to time.
My only issue with Glocks is that they point high for me. Sigs point perfect so it is a grip angle issue.
December 24, 2011, 09:09 AM
Harold BExactly! That is one of the reasons they shoot softer.
For great "pointibility", try one of the new Walther PPQ's. LOVE mine in 9mm

bry@nI am watching Tac-TV that I had dvr'd and they are doing a tortue test on a gen 3 and gen 4 glock 17's. Much, water, froze them, dropped em out of a choopper at 500 feet in the air and then blowing em up.
Though a trigger got blown off, it fired with a stub of the trigger. Impressive to say the least. Glad I own a glock.

Viffer750I sure gave it a good try. I wanted a G30SF in the worse way and after testing a G21 I sadly learned that my hands are just too small. Now I understand the brick comment. And so it goes.

But you'll never admit it. You'll live a closeted life and die a bitter old man.
It doesn't have to be like that, y'know. Just own up and be free.

Too many makers of great stuff out there to be idiocentric on a brand name. I love my Glocks, but they're not anywhere near my 3rd Gen. Smiths or Dan Wesson, or STI, or Caspian. They all play like different guitars will. Chill.

Well, it's remarkable. I understand your point even less now after your response to my question.
Tell ya what, don't bother. It's not important, really. There are many other threads you can visit.

Wow, thanks for your permission to visit the rest of the site.
You asked who I was responding to, and I gave a reasonable answer. In turn, you have gone into the personal zone of nicely telling a complete stranger off. Excellent attitude!
Variety is the spice of life. Liberty is the freedom to exercise rights of choice. Choose which sidearms you enjoy without going estrogenic on those who have decided else-wise.
What is it about this time of year that has folks twitchy to get shitty? Lack of sunlight?

Umm, not exactly. As I said, after reading your response, I'm even less clear about your motivations than before I asked. I'd hardly call the babbling you posted a "reasonable answer". What it looks like to me is someone who's not all that bright trying to sound as if they are.

Q.E.D.
Do you have some sort of issue with plain speaking? Because I don't know what you're trying to say.

In this case, pride of ownership and a desire to keep a tidy house are the factors in play.

Uh huh. Again, Q.E.D.
I've long been aware of the definiton of 'oxymoron'. It's your application of the term with regards to this exchange which puzzles me.
So, please, just withdraw from my thread, and you are still welcome at this point to visit threads other than this one, but you're done with this one.
**edit**
Actually, you know what? I'm just gonna cut to the inevitable chase here and say you're no longer welcome in this forum. Looking at this babbling bullshit from you, I don't want to have to revisit this matter when you piss off a member with that gibberish. So,
vaya con Dios.
How tone deaf do you have to be to take one look at this thread and not realize it's a running joke and nothing more? Guys who come in here and take exception to it are missing the point. I mean, really, look at the first post in this thread.
Really? You take that seriously? You feel the need to come in here and take a stand after reading that? Really? Yeah, I think maybe you should *
cough* chill.

Lt Col G T____ told me since he was just a Lt that I needed a Glock because of all the abuse I expose my pistols to and I resisted. Over a decade later I knuckled under.
