I am one of the ones that said I would never own a Glock. Now I have a Gen 3 G19. I could kick myself for not getting a Glock 20 years ago. The G19 is perfect for me. My scores and my confidence has gone up since I got this Glock. If I had any Sigs left I would gladly trade them all for Glocks.

I saw two in the case at the LGS this morning.
Thankfully, neither was a 26 or 27.

I bought my first 19 just about 20 years ago. Then went briefly to a 21 before switching to a 20 & 29 set. Sold them before going overseas 11 yrs ago. Only just recently picked up a police trade-in 27.

Well, as of yesterday I'm the proud owner of new-to-me Gen3 Glock 34.

Still love my Glocks. Pages later and I am thinking about trading my 239 towards a G30.

Sacrilege... ... my 9mm Sig P239 is my most trusted pistol. Not my favorite to shoot (my new Sig P210 Legend has that honor) but definitely the most reliable and the one I would reach for in troubled times.

I am one of those who said I'd never buy a Glock. I just bought a new carry pistol. I liked them a lot and almost "pulled the trigger" on a G26. I ended up with a Springfield XD 9sc. The ergonomics were just a bit better.

So I still do not own a Glock, but that G19 sure did have something about it that I liked. Maybe next time.

I might buy a Glock if all the other gun manufacturers go out of business.

Hey don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with my 239. I just got it for a specific purpose and that was to maybe replace my G19 as my carry but it didn't happen. My G19 is not going anywhere. And I figured either the 239 for a G30 or partial trade for a SA Range Officer.

Ummm, no. Not after I saw what occurs with each shot fired out of a Glock, using super slo-mo photography. You can see the "wrinkling" shock wave moving down the polymer frame.
THAT was the main reason I traded in my XD(m) for the P226.

Did your XD malfunction in any way? Was it ever damaged? Did it become useless?

You traded away a perfectly good gun because of watching a video or seeing pictures?

Nothing like making an issue out of, well, nothing.

That would be interesting to see.

Well, then don't look at slow-mo video of a Sig being fired. You will see the slide literally twisting and warping on every shot, trying to tear itself up off the frame rails. Thats just part of the mechanics of a firearm, when a cartridge ignites it applies massive pressure and velocity to the firearm, I think sometimes people lose perspective on just how much energy is being expended/released in the the gun during firing.
The polymer frame flexing is no big deal, probably absorbs some of the recoil energy...

Personally, I'm not the least bit worried about all that flex and twisting on the moving parts. I figure all that is well taken into account during the design and testing phases of every firearm, but it would be cool to watch.

Youtube has a few good ones but would love to see others.

You would be sick seeing the slow motion video of an aluminum Sig then, as well. The old carbon slides 226's are even a lot more flexy than the newer stainless slides.
