If I were to purchase a new Glock it would probally be a 3rd Gen Glock 26 or Glock 27 I like the size of those two pistols..

Aim has gen3 27's for 399. They are police trade ins, had holster wear. Not a great price but not bad....

I located a fairly nice gen. II Glock 22 with two hi-cap mags, dead Trijicons, no box or tools. Other than the sights, it appears to be all original. While I am not a .40 S&W fan, I do like the old style frames without rails and finger grooves. This is a three pin frame, and I thought all gen. II frames were two pin design. Any locals want to swap for a 9mm or .357 Sig?

nice catch, I like it!

I picked up a G17 Gen 4 yesterday and hit the range with it today. I found out that I shoot Sigs too much and I suck with the glock. By the end of the session, I was picking my groups up, but still not up to my standards.

My question is: If you are going to make replaceable backstraps, why half-ass it and make them snap over the frame instead of making them removable like everyone else?

(But I prefer it with no strap (SF) so I guess it really doesn't matter)

Edit- Other initial impressions - I prefer the M&P's grip angle better, but the Gen4 texture is better for my sweaty hands.
I already have the updated RSA in mine, so that is great.
Shoots very soft and 17 round magazines are great, getting 3 mags is a plus.
Boo plastic sights. Those will go away.

Picked up a 4th generation Glock 19 a few weeks back. Shot it once. Flawless, no matter what ammo I fed it. I shot is with no extra backstrap on it, but I changed it to the large one. It gives me better purchase on the gun. Here's some pictures:

Yeah, Para, I did. Gen4 G19. My first six shots were at a 200 yard popper just for kicks. I got the drop figured out and hit it on the sixth shot. It amazed the crap out of two LMPD SWAT guys.

Funny part was that it seemed to take forever to hear the "ping" Big Grin

I got another one too! A gen3 17, complete with duty rig and mag pouches (Safariland). That makes four in my collection now all 9mms. Dale

The 2022's are flawless in general and very reliable. I carry one in 9mm and it has never had a failure of any kind. Don't write them off as they're nothing like the 250's.

This has been true till recently, we saw a couple recent production SP2022 in .40/.357 models that were prematurely worn out and after much inspection Bruce found what appears to be a serious design flaw in the American made .40/.357 Sig Pros regarding barrel lock-up. I would seriously recommend not buying any of the new American ones till it gets fixed...

Somehow, I've managed to buy eight of them (since 1994). Still own all eight Smile

How does something like this happen? They must either

a. do not know how to read instructions from Germany
b. thought they knew better than the Germans
c. don't care
e. all of the above

I've seen the guns in question and they are a train wreck looking for tracks.

May I ask, what's the issue?

(And WRT the original topic, the G27 keeps catching my eye....)

God bless America.

While I haven't bought a new Glock in a decade, I lucked out yesterday and won an Advantage Arms 17/22 Conversion kit at a charity shoot/raffle that I can use on my 3rd Generation G22! While I don't have the option to carry a striker fired pistol in my CCW rotation, the idea that I could practice with .22 LR ammo has always carried a certain appeal. The new kit, combined with a previously purchased longslide (Bo-Mar sight equipped) upper has made my G22 a very versatile system.

Too much rain today to take it for a test ride, but can any fellow member tell me what I can expect?

I'll see if I can get Bruce to post a description of his findings fairly soon. I'm not sure if he was able to get a recent production 9mm to compare...
