You will buy a Glock
Glock or not to Glock, that is the question?
My experince with Glock began in the mid 80's when I purchased a G17 (serial number was stamped into plastic -no metal band), it shot well and shot everything (to include some hot Czech submachine gun ammo I had been running through my Class 3 Uzi), after about 8 or 9 months it went down the road for something else.
Since then I have shot several but never felt the need to go buy one as I have always been a 1911 junkie, love N-Frame S&W revolvers, a few Pythons have come and gone over the years and I do suffer from the "Signess" every know and again.

I have always recognized that Glocks were reliable, dependable (go bang everytime), reasonably priced handguns that many people shoot well. They just never tripped my trigger.

Last month I aquired a Gen 3 G19, I have run about 350 rounds through it, it's growing on me, to the point that I have ordered 6 additional Glock mags for it. I see that 10-8 makes sights for it (love them on my 1911's), so that will be the next step, after that who knows???

Well, gosh, thanks for going out of your way to report this. Seems like maybe you're worried it's going to happen to you all of a sudden, huh? Perhaps you feel the urge to buy a Glock building up inside of you? Razz

As I said earlier, there are plenty of members who said what you're saying. A few months later, they report they bought a Glock or three.

So, you see, the fact that you're going out of the way to report to us that this "still hasn't happened" does not bode well for you. Your symptoms indicate that before too long, you're gonna be all up in da Glock. Or it's gonna be all up in you. Whatever. Razz

Hahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa!!!!

Shot my Glock 23 today. I like my Sigs in 9mm but I shoot the 40's better with Glocks. I held a 35 today and its on my short list. I almost traded my HK USP C for one then figured it was better to just buy one.

Glock's some dislike them but thats just because they haven't gotten around to carrying one. Steel is real but plastic is fantastic. Big Grin

G21, G22, G27, G29, G30 - If all goes well I will be adding a G35 withing the next 3 months.

I carried a G26 for 10 years, didn't shoot it much, but NEVER had a reliability problem with it.
But I never did care for the hump in the back strap.

Sold it after buying an XD9sc that I carried for 2 years.
Actually bought 4 XDs but sold them all because of the spongy sloppy trigger.
Sold the XD9sc after buying my 9mm P239 SAS and started carrying it.
Now carry a 3 inch 9mm 1911, but I'm keeping the P239 SAS..

Something has come over me in the last few months and I want a G19.
Not sure which Gen I want, thinking a Gen 4 since I would have backstrap options.
I'm actually considering selling my 9mm P229 DAK SAS safe queen and buying a G19.

What has happened to me? Eek
Do I need help, or do I just need to buy the G19?

If it were me, I'd keep the Sig and buy a used G19. One of the nice aspects of the Glock finish is that a well cared for used piece looks just like a new one.

For me, it is the best combo of the three. Only slightly bigger than the 26 with much better capacity and handling, and only slightly smaller than the 17 without sacrificing too much accuracy or capacity. It is as close as I've found to the perfect carry/nightstand/vehicle piece.

I have no experience with the Gen 4 Glocks, but the interchangable backstrap thing has worn out its welcome with me. (Bad experience with a Walther and an XDm). I understand that some shooters enjoy customized fit, but in my experience, the tool that tries to be good at everything sacrifices being wonderful at one thing.

Thanks B218..
I just don't need safe queens and that is what this P229 has become..
I just don't shoot this P229 much, it is too pretty to abuse.
The P229 is too heavy for the wife for a nightstand gun.
And believe me, it wouldn't be the first gun I've sold..

The HK USP9 was a good house gun, but the wife didn't care for the LEM, so I sold it.

I'm thinking the G19 would be the perfect all around nightstand and SHTF pistol for the house.
I'm thinking about buying used as well, probably what I'll end up doing....

I've said in previous posts here about the 9mm Glocks, mainly the G19. But here lately I've been GASing (Gun Aquisition Syndrom) for a G30sf. I've got it to the point that I'm thinking about trading my OD G26 for it. Then I hold my G19 (main off duty carry weapon), and it goes away. I just want another .45 I suppose..... Big Grin

I always laughed at this thread and dismissed it...until I bought a glock 29SF last week. I broke down because I shoot the thing so well and have developed a 10mm fetish. Glock 20 is next.

That is how my G34 is set up, Dawson FO front, Sevigny rear. Never bought a gun that shot so well out of the box. It shoots tighter than the extra inch of sight radius and barrel would indicate. Carry a HK but I would totally trust my family to my 34 (my 19 also, didn't like my 21). Once you embrace a little variety you might like it. If I was limited to one handgun only, that would make it tougher, but I certainly wouldn't feel bad if it was one of my glocks (or HK's, sigs, SW's, CZ's, etc.). I don't keep bad guns, they get sold or traded. I don't own a gun that jams. Except for my wilson combat .22 conversion for my colt. that one makes me scratch my head.

I like that G34.

I almost got one recently but decided against it. I want a longer barrel for my 17 but might just order a 17L barrel to achieve the same thing.

For my use I am steering clear of any of the models with an open slide top.

Took me a long time to finally buy a Glock. I bought two; a 20 that turned out to be a lemon, a real dog that Glock agreed to take back, and a 17 I have nothing but praise for.

Now I'm getting a G19. I know, not much difference between that and a 17. But I want one. Maybe a 26 down the line.

I think from here in any Glock I buy will be a 9x19.

The evil pull has no effect on me. HA!

Now IF I were to ever buy a Gluck it would be a 36 but it will never happen.

I have two Gen 3's - 19 & 26. I'm working on getting a Gen 4 26. Should have it shortly. Smile

Also, if this doesn't get you worked up about buying a Glock, nothing will.

The fact that he says "would be" actually means "will be" minus the "but it will never happen".

I currently own no Glocks in 9mm. Since I am swinging to mainly Glocks I plan on getting a couple of 19's. Do not feel the need for a 17 or 26 since I have the 27 and 22 models. I am waiting to try out the new Gen 4 models. However, all my others are Gen3 and I may stay with that model.

I will keep both my 226's and both my P'6's and sole 2022. But they will be largely set aside from occasional CCW for the P-6's and range duty for the 226's.
