I have an I-Shot that I won here in a Karma years ago.
It has been a great bag and shows no sign of wear. I carry multiple magazines, ear protection, a few tools, AR-site adjuster, notebook, targets, staple gun, Uplula (regular, AR, and CZ Evo), rag, breakfree (spray and liquid), Squib rod, cleaning kit, screwdriver kit.

Here's mine:

I just use an old backpack. I live in an apartment complex so discretion is important.

Setting up a range bag is a learning experience.

Over time, after forgetting things or needing shit that you didn't bring, you figure it all out.

I use a Lowepro camera bag. Main reason is the customizable compartments. I didn't repurpose something I already had, I specifically bought this for range use.

Also, as DMF mentioned two posts down, it's way easier to find stuff against the light-colored inner lining.

I am still using a Sig Sauer range bag I bought years ago.
I love the bag and it has held up very nice.

I generally think most people carry way too much stuff to the range. For example, I don't clean my guns at the range, so I leave that stuff at home. I also prefer a bag with a light color interior, as it's easier to find all the dark color gear in light color bag.

For years I used a tan tool bag that I bought at Walmart. I carried everything I needed for shooting handguns in just that bag. When I became an instructor at work I began carrying extra stuff for those duties, and started using a Patrol Bag from LAPG:
https://lapolicegear.com/lapg-...ator-patrol-bag.html

Prices have gone up, as they used be $30, and I got it on sale for $25.

If had seen it first, I would have gone with a boat bag from Bass Pro instead:
https://www.basspro.com/shop/e...ps-extreme-boat-bags

That offers true weather resistance for when you have to be out in the mud and rain.

For additional gear when shooting a rifle/shotgun, I use one of these:
https://lapolicegear.com/lapg-...le-42-riflecase.html

With a couple of these attached, to hold extra gear:
https://www.amazon.com/Pouch-T...ZWN0ZG8D634KAWD&th=1

For those that like the 5.11 and Midway range bags, IIRC those are made in China, and are identical to the ones offered by LAPG. Prices on the LAPG bags have gone up in the last two years, but unless there is a sale on the other brands, you can usually get the LAPG ones for a lot less money.

For smaller containers to organize everything inside the bag I like "packing cubes" like:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014...d=2JA6JW41E984D&th=1
or
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075...lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1

Also, I use some zippered tool pouches, like:
https://www.amazon.com/ANPHSIN...rds=canvas+tool+bags
and

I also use the small Midway bag. It is a great all around bag, and I use one extensively for electrical work as well. Usually these are sold for about half off at the Black Friday sale. Buy a light colored version so you do not lose things inside of the bag.

No bag. I have used a Rubbermaid tool box for years that has small detachable boxes that snap into the exterior lid for small items. I don't think its made anymore.
Update:
Damned if the Midway bag is not on sale for 55 bucks. Now one is on its way to the Yoop.
SF keeps me broke.

I use the Eberlestock Bang Bang bag because of the hard plastic bottom, when I set it on a wet surface or even on the ground - everything inside stays dry. I have used it for quite a few matches/trainings and it has performed amazingly.

I don't clean my guns at the range either, but I do keep lube in the bag and a couple of tools. Oddly, I don't think I take all that much to the range, but the bag seems to fill up pretty well.

Outside pockets
1. Small Binoculars
2. Water bottle
3. Hearing protection
4. Magazines

Inside
1. Stapler and staples
2. 1911 screw driver
3. GGI range tool
4. Slide Glide lube and gun oil
5. Mag loader
6. 200+ rounds ammunition
7. Four pistols
8. Spent brass bag

I've used every single one of those things at various times at the range just shooting.

I use my old 5.11 duty bag. It's big enough to hold everything I might need, while being sturdy enough to hold up to the weight.

It's usually loaded with a large pair of binoculars for spitting, a rifle rest and rear bag, a folder containing printed paper targets, pens, stapler, multiple pairs of eyes and ears, and various tools. There's still room to throw a couple of pistol rugs in there, and my chronograph if I'm planning to use it that day. Ammo goes in cans, and I usually throw the mags in with it.

It is similar to yours. Though it has a customizable inner organizer, I like your inner removable bag setup better.

Generally I like to have my ammo bag separate from my Range bag. Ammo and Mags in one bag and guns, ears, eyes, timer, etc. and maintenance items in my range bag. Its not a "Go-Bag", so separating the items makes more sense to me not only for weight distribution but for security as well. If traveling, I can grab the guns and go into the Hotel and leave ammo in the car if need be.
My Bag. ESSTAC Range Bag!
https://www.esstac.com/range-bags
It accepts a 50 Cal. Ammo can (or one of the plastic MTM 50 cal ammo cans) by design to keep your stuff dry if sitting on a wet range bench or the ground, strong as heck because everything ESSTAC builds is way over kill. Double zip top for easy access. PALs webbing on the sides for adding whatever pouches you want or run it slick.

I have used a CED Deluxe Professional bag for years. It is indestructible. However, it does carry more than I really should take to the range. When I had a gaggle of different pistols it made sense. But I have culled the collection and really only have 2-3 Glocks I take. I have thought about getting the smaller CED bag to accommodate.

I also carry tools as well. I picked up several Maxpedition pistol bags a few years ago and use one for tools and one for suppressors/suppressor tools. Both fit nicely in the larger bag. I also have much smaller bag for my Glock tools that is separate that would work well in an overall smaller bag.

I always bring 2 sets of ears and eyes. I never know who might need a set. My bag also accommodated at least 1 mag for every pistol/rifle I have. Not gonna lie, I drove an hour to my favorite range and did not have a P226 mag one day. I also carry a staple gun with extra stapes and laminated copies of all my stamps. Now that I type all of this out...I think I am going to go order the smaller CED bag Smile

My I-Shot does get a bit heavy, as I keep some tools in it, like pocket fold-out sets of allen wrenches (english, metric, and torx), plus enough other junk to fill up the big front pocket (small ball peen hammer, bronze squib rods, pin punch set, gun oil, bandaids, small 4" channel locks, small screwdriver that doubles phillips and slotted, E12 flashlight, and a bit more. Plus the gun, bullets, mags, holster, etc. So I use this German made cart for matches, originally designed for photographers. With my difficulty in walking anymore, it really comes in handy, especially since the Prescott range has its bays on a fairly steep hill. Uphill kills me. The fold-down seat is wonderful. The whole cart is foldable to completely flat. I don't fold it all the way as it fits in the bed of my pickup partially unfolded. I've added another hook so I can also attach my Igloo 1/2 gallon water jug. Now I just need to rig some sort of umbrella to it Smile (it is AZ, after all).
