Maybe this is a delicate question, but, I don't see them as useful as actual pistols. I do see them as great short barreled rifles.

Maybe only delicate to those pushing the envelope on the STF's most recent letter of clarification (re: use of "braces"), as provided to SB Tactical. Basically says as long as you don't modify the brace to permanently change its function or purpose, you're good to go. In other words, occasionally using a brace for cheek weld is ok (AIUI).

One handed, these guns are a bit unpractical without a brace IMO (I don't have Rambo's arms!). That said, both can be operated admirably using two hands. Still compact when suppressed Big Grin

But for their capacity they make great PDWs!!!

My choice was B&T GHM9 Compact, that I subsequently improved with a Glock magazine compatible lower and SBR'd.

Same. I set up one for the exact reason the OP wants to. All the right modifications are available too. Flat trigger with spring upgrades made the trigger what I'd call "sweet". Real crisp and clean. Perfect break. Oversized charging handle. Corrected the safety with ak style, with left hand side delete. Duckbill mag release. Pistol grip replacement. AFG. Dual QD mounts. Inforce WL. And in the process of putting a can on it for HD. It's a very trick piece. My first PDW and with the brace the perfect HD weapon.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

None of the above. CZ Scorpion. Parts and magazines are easily found and relatively inexpensive and it is Uber reliable.

I have the scorpion and I really like it, especially after a few upgrades.

But I will pass along a word of caution. After about 700 rounds the accuracy went to hell. I couldn’t understand what happened but with some help from some guys on another forum I found the problem. Under the birdcage muzzle brake was a thread protector, 1/2 x 28, that I didn’t know about. This came loose and was being struck by the rounds. So just take the brake off from time to time to check. I have a couple of photos I’ll post when I have more time.

my vote is for the TNW firearms version...

not only is it great but it is pretty easy to change calibers and also it would be pretty simple to convert to a rifle... order a rifle barrel and pull off the brace and slip on an adjustable stock.

Pistol is on the bottom, rifle on the top... dog is my only employee....
