onpointgunI picked up a new toy the STI Staccato C
I saw this at the gun shop today and it followed me home. I unfortunately haven't had a chance to take it to the range but I must say its one finely crafted pistol.
I will be swift in my attack. My venom is packed with enough pride and gun powder to take down
any adversary that attempts to tread on my freedom. You've been warned, but if you
still want to test me, take a step forward.

inspcalahanNice - early reports are that it's fantastic! This isn't anything outside of what I'd expect. Looks like one heck of a nice pistol. Make sure to get it dirty soon and report back!

David LeeI think its a way cool pistol. Watched a video on it and, barring all the screwing off on the range, that thing flat functions and shoots. Initial intro by the vid guy makes it sound high quality for parts function and fit. I love the bull barrel. Vid guys grabbers are larger than mine so its grip size would be dandy. Dunno a thing about colored front sights. Rear didn't look to be serrated. Its overall size is perfect for carry. Flat, single stack mags would be as well for skinny people like me. Pistol is cool so common back with a range report.

Oat_Action_ManI'm really jonesing for an STI of one sort or another lately, but there is just no way I can justify that price tag.
I'm jealous!

Il Cattivo^^^ I hear you. I'd especially like to support a local(ish?) buisness, but I'm just not a 1911 guy.

soggy_spinoutAesthetically it's not bad looking. But it to me has the flavor of an aftermarket Glock. Something about that trigger guard, perhaps...

Knowing what (little) I know about STI, it probably is a superb performer.

It has the same frame as the other 2011 STI's.

onpointgunI did take the Staccato to the range today and put approximately 350 rounds down range with zero malfunctions. It was a mixture of different ball ammo and some personal defense ammo. I must say this thing might replace my current daily carry.

I noticed that when I visited the STI website the other night after your post. It's been a while since I last handled and shot a STI pistol, that one being an earlier Edge exactly like the one below:
Similar but vastly different in character, at least to me.

False. The frame on the single stack gun is different.

if it had a single stack frame it'd be a 1911.

Regardless, the Staccato C IS single stack.

It’s a single stack 2011. The hole in the frame is different. You can’t just slap a double stack grip on it and run wide body mags.

SVI is much more of a boutique shop... they’re in a whole ‘nother League from STI.

tha1000Not sure if the last reply was directed to me.. it's been discussed on Enos and Facebook with Tony Pignato, STI's marketing director. The frame on the Staccato C is different than the frame on the traditional "double stack" 2011... which is incredibly dumb for a company that completely abandoned 1911's to "streamline manufacturing".
STI owns the 2011 name, they can call whatever they want a "2011", but the frame on the Staccato C is manufactured to vastly different dimensions than what has historically been known as a 2011 frame.
