Been away from Sig for a while. Thinking about the Legion in 10mm. For those of you that have them what do you think? I have two DW Valors in 10mm. After 750 rounds of FMJ through the first I still have FTF. The 2nd in NIB. Looking for something that will go bang every time. How does it compare weight wise to a 1911, very noticeable? I have noticed holster selection to be somewhat scarce as well. Finally, are you running full loads like Double Tap and Underwood without issue? Thanks!

While I can't speak for the Legion 10mm, I did manage to find one of the first 50 10mm P220s ever made. I haven't had any problems with it since I bought it. That being said, The only changes I made to it was a GrayGuns trigger and some checkered aluminum grips.

The 10mm P220 is slightly heavier than some of the 1911s that I have, but not by much. You can order a holster from Milt Sparks.

 
I have the P220-10mm SAO model in Nitron. It shines with Underwood ammo. You can also get a kydex holster specific to the 10mm dimensions from Blade-Tech. They have two, but neither shows up on their gun list. You have to call them to order. One is for a 4.4" bbl and one for a 5" bbl. IIRC, the one they list as "SAO" is the 4.4" model. You have to specify the 5" bbl model.

I've got a Dan Wesson Razorback in 10mm that has gotten a little finicky lately. No previous problems with it. But Double Tap which is what I've used for heavy 10mm loads in it does not ship to Alaska. Looking for alternatives, I tried both Underwood and Buffalo Bore, both were giving me FTF's and Buffalo Bore was blowing primers out the back of the case.

With a little trial and error I've got it to feed reliably with Underwood 220gr hardcast loads. A thorough cleaning, replacement of the firing pin spring, replacement of the 23 pound recoil spring and a little polishing of the feed ramp with Flitz.

I have less than 500 various rounds through my 220 Legion DA/SA but it has been trouble free. It shoots well and the weight helps, but it is still a bit of a handful like 10mm pistols are. I have a Nighthawk 1911 in 10mm as well. Though trouble free as well, I prefer the Legion. I carry this on my property and when going hog hunting.

Thank for the information! Have one in the cart, just have to hit the go button! From my math, approx. 4 oz more for the legion over 1911 is not a huge noticeable difference. I wish a local range had one to rent. They are not very common. It is a shame as I love the 1911, but a 10 in the P220 seems to be the solution. Not a Glock fan, so the G20 is out.

I may be a bit biased, but I am confident the 220-10mm will do right by your expectations. They are outstanding, solidly engineered and built pistols.

Are they steel frame? I’d prefer all-steel on this one personally.

I believe all models of the SIG P220-10mm are all steel.

I’ve been getting into 10mm the last couple of years. I have G20 and a new SR1911 in 10mm. The 1911 is still going through break in. I had some issues the first time out, but the 2nd trip was better. The G20 goes bang every time and is accurate, but Glocks are hard for me to love. A P220 might be right up my alley.

How many rounds have you put through the SR1911. I am at the point of unloading the DW's as I am losing interest trying to get them to run. In all fairness the 2nd in NIB. I figured why make it used gambling that it runs 100 percent.
