Not trying to derail this thread, and it’s probably been talked about in other threads, but since things have already slipped a bit off the rails —
Why do people prefer Gen 3 or Gen 4 G26’s? I don’t have any Gen 5’s (except G43’s and G48’s which are “partial Gen 5’s”), but I thought the internals of Gen 5’s and their new barrels were such an upgrade?
Is your preference of Gen 3 and 4 just because you have one and don’t see a need for an upgrade, or do you like the finger grooves, or do you hate the (needless, ugly, not quite Hillary-Hole-like) forward slide serrations on non-RDS guns?

I carry a Gen 4 G33 often. The Glocks don't need much upgrading except for the sights IMO. I also put an OEM smooth faced trigger in mine as a personal preference. I get 10rds in the OEM 9rd mag for 10+1 and also carry a 13rd backup. OWB in a Brommeland Def-Con is very comfy.

The Glock 26 is IMO one of the best carry options available. Yes she may have a lil more junk in the trunk than the flavor of the week 365 but when you run rounds down range you feel like you’re shooting a larger handgun. Then pair it with a Glock 17 or 45 and you are set.

I couldn't say if I would prefer a gen5 to my gen3. My gen3 does what a Glock is supposed to do so well that I haven't felt the need to try one.

I am not a .40 hater, frankly I quite like the cartridge. That said most all the Glocks in .40 kinda suck. They are far snappier than they have a right to be. Guns like the P239 and P2000SK are FAR better alternatives to the G27.

As for the G26 it’s a far better gun then it has any right to be. Feels a little odd, it’s tiny, short sight radius but damn if they don’t shoot absolutely awesome. While I’m not a GLOCK-O-PHILE you could do much worse then a G26 and a variety of mags as your only gun.

My gen 3 26 still dominates my carry rotation, despite a 365 being in the mix (and I do like the 365). As Para stated, it flat out works. I had a 27 for a short while and found the 26 to be superior in terms of accuracy, controllability, follow up hits on target, etc.
