Does anyone have any sugesstions for night sights that could co-witness with the VP9 Optics Ready model? I am planning on buying the pistol soon and have not decided which optic to use but possibilities include Vortex Venom, Holsun 507, or a Trijicon RMR. Thank you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Democracy is 2 Wolves & a Lamb debating the lunch menu. I can’t speak to the sights but you might want to add the Holosun SCS to your list of options. It will direct mount and cowitness with the stock sights. I was a little trepidatious about buying one but I have loved mine (the SCS). "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

Thanks for suggestion "cslinger," I was not aware of this optic but from what I read it appears that the ScS would be very helpful and just what I need. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Democracy is 2 Wolves & a Lamb debating the lunch menu. Suppressor height night sights for the VP9 are hard to find. Plenty of night sights for the VP9 w/o a red dot. Two that I know of is XS sights and I believe Dawson. Personally, and as a suggestion, you can tell me to beat it if you want get a Trijicon SRO. Same footprint as the RMR or the Holosun 507. It is tough enough. Big piece of glass to look through. If you are set on an RMR get the new RMR HD when you can. A little bigger glass than the RMR. The legendary toughness of the RMR but, w/ the easier to change out top loading battery.

Thanks for the reply 357funzz. I was not entirely clear from reading your post but are you suggesting the Holosun SCS? I am not set on Trijicon for a red dot. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Democracy is 2 Wolves & a Lamb debating the lunch menu. I have a VP9 OR with a Trijicon RMR. I use these XS Sights: https://xssights.com/products/...r-rmr-height-hk.html They are the perfect height for this setup. If you are going to use the Holosun SCS it mounts low enough you can use the sights that come on the gun. Proverbs 28:1

I have a couple VP9L pistols and they have factory sights, which are the taller ones and not the original fiber optic with the lower profile. You can get the taller sights from HK Parts and a few other vendors. The ones on Hk Parts have a front night sight surrounded in orange, which helps direct my vision with it's bright color and the rear is blacked out. While I don't have the front night sight, the orange dot really stands out. The only downside is that the sights are really on their good and you need a sight pusher able to handle the taller sights, so you press on the base of the sight and not the blade. I was wondering when Holosun was going to put the sights on the market, as originally it seemed you could only get one with a new HK VP9L pistol from the factory. I have a Viridian green dot on mine and really like it. While you do need the optic plate HK #2 plate for it,they can be had for $30-40 if you look around, the Viridian RFX 35 has the wider/larger glass like on the Trijcon SRO model, which is great for me and getting used to the optic. I actually bought 2 of them, the first one I bought on Amazon for $220 or so and it came with a 30% off coupon for any Viridian product on their website. Viridian sells theirs for almost $300 and with the coupon,I spent less on the second one. Anyway, I like the green dot as it is easier to see as I am getting older compared to the red dot. Time will tell how they hold up.

So as far as my SCS goes. While the internal battery will last for damn ever in a safe etc. I pull mine out every couple of weeks or so and charge it under a bright light or sunlight if it just sits. That said if all the specs are to be believed, hell if you halve the specs/increase the current draws you literally would likely never have to worry about it. I am just a little OCD "Guns are tools. For this gun I think the no brainer choice is the Holosun SCS. It literally is built specifically for that gun. No suppressor height nonsense, no excess height over bore, it is as low as humanly possible. Plus you can buy whatever iron sights you want. Skip all the others get the SCS.

Great replies from everyone. especially pedropcola. Yes I like to make life as simple as possible especially anything technical. A reliable Reflex Dot built for my gun, use any sights one wants - Priceless. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Democracy is 2 Wolves & a Lamb debating the lunch menu. Sorry about that. I was suggesting the Trijicon SRO since you mentioned the RMR. I was building off that. It is nice we live in a time where we have a lot of choices for dots. Not all that long ago you had to pick from 3-4 different ones. That was it.
