While I dig G10 and various colors I think the P7M8 (blued) tends to look best in lighter colored woods. Something classic about the gun and wood combo. Nil’s look amazing. The stock grip profile works for me, personally. All that said, one thing I have learned in my life is that I am generally NOBODY’s target market. I seem to always fall into more of a specific niche category for the products/features I want. So what I’m putting down here is take what I say and do the opposite. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

3° that never cooled |
I have owned a couple P7s, and once tried the Nills; too fat. I found that I much preferred the factory flat grip. I think your exotic wood would be great, as long as they were FLAT. A texture similar to the factory's or checkering would seem desirable. The slimness of the P7 is one reason people, myself included, like the P7 series of pistols. No palm swells for me. I still have a P7M8, and will be interested in what you develop.. NRA Life

It's pronounced just the way it's spelled |
Definitely wood, I have a Nil knockoff set for a PSP that really dresses it up and is more ergonomic than the stock grips. Some sort of stippling or checkering is necessary, in my mind.

Mistake Not... |
I agree with the flatness in G10 and/or wood. ___________________________________________ Life Member NRA & Washington Arms Collectors Mistake not my current state of joshing gentle peevishness for the awesome and terrible majesty of the towering seas of ire that are themselves the milquetoast shallows fringing my vast oceans of wrath. I have a "real" P7 (not M8) with heel release for the magazine, and would love some wood grips. Contrary to most responders in this thread, I would prefer a fatter grip, which would work better with my moderately large hands and long fingers. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I'm not greedy. A simple rubber molded panel grip with a bit of palm swell is all I want for my PSP.

I've wanted a pair G10 P7M8 grips for YEARS. My carry preference is piranha. I put checked on range toys (but I don't currently have a P7 range toy, hmmmm.....). Black is always great, but I like the damascus when I find a pair that really looks good. I would consider wood for my safe queen--high grain hard woods in dark cherry or properly done dark (ebony) stains with normal checkered pattern. Flat. No swells. Just curious: Why now? LOL! I was initially worried that my short stubby fingers would find the Nils too "fat" on my P7 PSP. I was pleasantly surprised to find they worked great. I put them on My SIG P6 and had the same positive result

I would use the same wood that Hogue uses on their Korth models. Don't exclude grips for the P7 M10 and M13. P7 has resurfaced thru P7Pro with fugly polymer....... https://p7pro.com/

Don't have a M8, only a PSP. I agree with those who say that grips with a flat profile is best. When it comes to actual materials, I prefer natural wood over G10; not only does it have the feel that I like, wood also gives a more sophisticated and even elegant look to such an iconic firearm. Either walnut or rosewood is my preferred species, though I do wish that your rosewood had more of a 'burgundy' deep red tone stain rather than the more dark brown hue that is customary. Resembles too closely a dark walnut look. SIG used to sell rosewood grips for their classic alloy and SS framed P-series pistols; that "wine red" color is what I've always associated as a 'proper' rosewood appearance (well those and as well the stain of my old Brazilian rosewood dining room furnishings) -MG

I have Nill Griffe on mine but would totally consider the G10 palm swells if available. Maybe you can make some magazines for them too?

A man's got to know his limitations |
I like the flat in black G10. "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock "If there's one thing this last week has taught me, it's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it." Clarence Worley

As flat/thin as possible, in G10, with checkered texture. Colors beyond black wouldn't matter much to me, but I guess rosewood colored flat, checkered G10 panels would be just about perfect. Grips4U made some G10s that I was tempted to buy years ago, however they looked a little thicker than the factory grip panels, and he only made them with an odd-looking HK logo with the wrong font/shape, or a Grips4U logo.
