I’m pretty interested in this one as I love the paddle mag release. Seems to be almost the exact same size as a Glock 19. Curious if any of you guys have shot one yet.

I own one. There isn't much to dislike about it except its price. Given HK's history, it will likely be a few years on the market before its pricing becomes competitive w/ other guns in its class.

If you've ever shot a VP9 before, it still shoots like a VP9, but yes, HK made the K the same size as a G19.

I keep going back and forth between this and a P30 LEM for my next purchase.

One of my go to guns is a P30 LEM. I added some short reset Grayguns parts and flat trigger. Makes for a phenomenal shooter. I would choose it over a VP9 every day and twice on Sundays.

I don't have a VP9A1K but do have a VP9 and it is quite a nice gun to shoot. Although bigger than the A1K, the frame design is nothing short of amazing as is the A1k.

A G19 is actually an even better analogy than one might think. Compared to the VP9F (which is like a G17 or G47) and the standard VP9 (which is like a G19X or G45), the grip of the VP9K feels a little cramped. However, this actually gives me a more secure (if less comfortable) purchase when actually shooting. I have the same experience with a G19 (especially one with finger grooves) when compared to the other Glocks above.

748s, ultimately you should base your decision on whether or not you need the optic cut. But I’d also say that if the size is a real factor too, then you should cross-shop between a VP9K and a P2000 (instead of a P30) LEM.

I have both the VP9A1F and the VP9A1K models. I have about 500 rounds through each gun and love them both. They feed everything and are as accurate as my VP9 Match. I see the K model replacing my Glock 19 as a carry gun.

This is pretty much the reason I asked. I need just a hair more length on the G19 frame. I was hoping the VP9K would give me that without going full size VP9. I may just undercut the GLOCK trigger guard.

If you want a hair more grip length, I think you'll be disappointed. The mag floorplate on the VP9 is a little thicker, so if you include that in as part of your grip purchase, then you sort of get a hair more that way.

You can compare the two at the following:

It’s probably splitting hairs at this point, but I’d put the VP9K grip length between the G19 and the P228/P229 (i.e. it has slightly more space than a G19 but still less than a P228/P229)

My boss has one. He's a big HK guy and carries his HK VP9A1 K every day. He's thrilled with it. Total reliability. Easy to carry with a good holster and gun belt. He's mounted an RDS on it, as well.

I went to the range with him shortly after he bought it and put about 150 rounds through it myself. It's very nice. No malfunctions. Ergonomics are solid. Recoil seems to be a little less than with my more snappy VP9-B, but I'm not sure why because the slide lengths and recoil spring guide rods are practically identical. He also had his HK VPA1 F full size, and I liked the K much better, but only for personally subjective reasons.

If I had to nitpick, I'd say that the grip is still entirely too slick. In fact, the grip texture was the only real disappointment to me. HK needs to update it and make it more like the Echelon, for example. Also, and I'm in the minority here, but I do not care for the paddle magazine release at all. That's just me, and YMMV.

Overall, I was impressed with it. So much so that I'm looking at the new VP9A1 X, and if they ever make it in a B model, I might pick one up. It's supposed to be HK's answer to the Glock 19X/45 9mm Crossover.

Which is just the OG VP9. The VP9X is just an updated VP9 original which was doing the X thing before Glock

FYI, there is currently a $150 factory rebate on them. Used it to buy 4 extra magazines. The magazines were on sale, then used the rebate coupon to buy them. I’m still looking for regular height rear tritium night sights with white rings. No one makes a set yet for it. I called meprolight, trijicon, night fusion. I called HK and there engineering/technical guys said it can use the rear p2000 sight and the front p30, hk45, vp9 sight. So I was able to order single sights from meprolight. Trijicon only sold sight sets. Once I get them installed, I will report back.

But they removed the finger grooves! Red Face
If you consider yourself an HK fan, you must buy one. Wink
