Legion grip thickness (226/229) Login/Join

I’ve looked and can’t really find anything definitive regarding the legion grip thickness on the 226/229 platforms. I’m looking to see if there is any skinnier options available besides the E2 grip. Are the G10 grips identical in feel and thickness to the legion grips?

No they are not. My E2 grips were not snug and kept slipping. I ordered the G10 grips which have a rather aggressive texture and I am happy with them.

I've had E2, Sig OEM two-panel and G10's on my P226 and P229. Impossible to compare dimensions on E2 versus two-panel grips. Shapes are completely different.

If trigger reach is your concern I solved the problem with G10's and GrayGuns Intermediate trigger. Combo places my trigger finger closer to the trigger face.

E2's had consistency issue, the Sig OEM "Short Reach Trigger" sucked.

I don’t have either gun. I’m used to the 220 and trying to see just how much thinner I can get the grips. I’ve handled the 226 legion at a gun show and it felt quite a bit wider. Thinking about getting a legion rxp in 226 or 229. I know it’ll never be as slim as the 220 but not sure if it can be slimmed down from the legion grips. Not interested in the E2. Had them on my 220 and hated the way it rubbed my skin and also the sloppy fit on the gun. Just didn’t seem right that you could wiggle the grips on the gun and they weren’t tight.

The answer to the 1st question is yes. Have no idea what ZSMICHAEL is talking about, when he said "they are not".
The answer to the 2nd question is no, since you have eliminated the E2 grip from the equation. The E2 is slimmest overall, but it sucks because of its instability.

Legion grips are made by Hogue, which have identical dimensions to their original aftermarket G10 grips. I emphasized original because their newest models, the Contour Classic grips, appear to be just a little thicker due to the palm swell. I don't have the Contour Classic, yet, but the P229 Legion grips and the original G10 Hogue both measure the same, 34 mm side to side, half way up. Interesting note: The stock P228/P229 plastic grips actually are thinner side to side (@ 32 mm) than the original G10. But the Hogue overall feels slightly slimmer in hand because the back strap is less than that on the stock plastic grips. The larger hump at the bottom half of the plastic grips' back strap is what I hate.
