The video says they shot 1M rounds through it during the development stage.

I love the original, despite its problems. I’ll pick up the DD version also, but I wish the frame was steel.
The Hudson looks better, in my opinion. Love its futuristic appearance….

I thought the original Hudson looked interesting enough to be enticing. But being the first product from a startup with nowhere enough financial and technical resources, the failure of both the H9 and Hudson was pretty much preordained. Cy Hudson ain't John Moses Browning, and even JMB didn't have instant results with his successes. However DD must have seen something intriguing enough about the Hudson's design to warrant spending their own money on the patents and 4 years of their time to bring this to reality.
Sure it's relatively spendy if you're comparing it to an average service level pistol like a M&P9 2.0 or a Walther PDP, but so are many other guns these days. The DD H9's MSRP is actually $100 less than MAP street price of the even spendier P320 AXG Legion...and viewed objectively what's so special about THAT particular SIG, besides maybe the heart-stopping joy of "being in the Legion"?
I hope DD does okay if not very well with this reboot. Presuming the mag cap limits here aren't already overturned, if they make a cap-limited version I'd consider one. I mean after all, I can't think there's any more reason for me to buy yet another Shadow 2. Or some tarted-up P226 "special".
EDIT: Oh, and I also think the original Hudson looks cooler.

Now Bereli has it for $849.00. with 5 magazines. Still too ugly to buy.
Huge discount from $1300. What a shocker. Not. Pretty soon, it will disappear from the DD line-up.
These novelty guns (H9, Boberg, KRISS Vector, etc.) are just that. Never caught fire and will fade into history’s footnotes.

Local Range USA can't give these things away. I think they are down to $999 or $899 in store. Website still shows list price though.

Has anyone here actually picked one up? Other than the typical round of YouTube release reviews, I haven’t heard a single thing about these.

I'm gonna disagree with you on the KRISS Vector. It's an odd duck, and for what it does, I've made other choices instead. That said, it's had a pretty devout following for it's lifecycle that I will note has been considerably longer than the other examples you threw it in with. They recently announced a Gen 3 that solved the complaints I had with the Gen 2 and I'm actually considering one. Your other examples don't do anything better than anything else they're competing against. The Vector does the Glock mag PCC thing pretty damned well and does have a very different recoil impulse compared to something like an AR9.This message has been edited. Last edited by: P220 Smudge,

A buddy of mine picked a DD H9 last Month. I just shot it yesterday and it felt good in my hand. He has a red dot mounted; it took me a minute to get used to it. At 15 Yards I hit everything I aimed at. I do not like it as much as my P239 (9mm) but it is not bad. He said it has been 100% reliable thus far.

Only one LGS that I frequent had them (the DD, not the Hudson). The first one sold quickly. The second one sat there for months until it went on sale for like 30% off or something extreme like that.
It's an interesting modification of the Browning action. It manages to lower the bore axis while keeping the "natural-pointing" alignment index (most Browning action pistols are either/or). Otherwise, it's sort of forgettable to me. It's ugly, has an underwhelming trigger, and a shady track record. The only thing I was impressed by was that mags were actually cheap.

I bought one last year. They shoot good, now that Daniel worked out the bugs from their first release.
