tschiemerSig 1911 varieties
Members, what can you tell me about the models of Sig 1911s. I had a custom Series 70 set up years ago for target shooting and always found it finicky with adjustments needed every few years. Are the Sig 1911s more like Sig 220s kind of like a timex commercial -- takes a licking and keeps on ticking -- as a combat- read that reliable - gun, or not? Looking at a 220 or a Sig 1911 as options compared to others.
I have had many 220s but never a 1911 by Sig.
Thanks.

Johnny 3eaglesI have two Sig 1911s and have found them to be reliable. The difference between most Sig 1911s is purely cosmetic.
Buy with confidence.

SCfromNYI have two Sig 1911's, A Max Michel and a Stainless Super Target. Both have been perfect from day 1 including with my handloaded JHP's.
The only changes I have made is an STI Recoil Master Guide Rod in each and replaced the giant magwell on the max Michel.

Jimbo54I have a C3 and an Ultra and they are both reliable and will digest any ammo I put through them. No complaints whatsoever.

Sig MannI will echo the comments given above. I have a TacOps .45 and a Scorpion Commander .45, and both have been flawless. They are also easy for me to shoot accurately. Pick a model that feels comfortable in your hand and have a ball.
