ScreamingCockatooWell, I went and picked up another High Standard
This time a 1956 Supermatic!
Again, grandad had an old gun now it's mine.
The trigger can't be 8oz. It has a ported barrel.
1956 with a ported barrel!
It has a set of vintage walnut target grips on the way!

clubleaf206Very nice! I haven't been to a gunshow in years, however back when I used to do so on a regular basis I would see High Standard pistols quite regularly. Victors, HD Militarys, etc.

I remember them too. I could have picked up a Trophy or Citation for $400-$600. But in the late 1990s and early 2000s that was a chunk of change.
The Hammerlis and Pardinis made them obsolete.
Some of the High Standard Trophy models are fetching $1500.

It's ported from High Standard. I've seen many with these ports.
They had different ports in the 60's and 70's.
I'll get video of it's effectiveness when the weather clears.
I'll have the walnut stocks then.

Along those lines, I remember seeing in a department store a Colt Woodsman Match Target in the fitted case and passing on it. I thought "$400 for a
.22 pistol?!?" [shakes head]

In a similar vein, I recall back in the '70s seeing a Colt Woodsman Match Target in the fitted wood case in a department store. I passed on it, thinking "$400 for a
.22 pistol ?!? Yeah, I know, I know. [shakes head]

Mars_AttacksThese photos do this beautiful pistol no justice.
He needs to get rid of that iPhone 10 and use that 12 I gave him.

factory,
they did several models that way,
the later models had an optional comp that slid over the barrel, held on by 2 allen head screws

ScreamingCockatooI was zinging shotgun shells off the top of my steels at the back of my range(50 yards.
These things are stupid accurate. Even with the garbage Federal bulk pack from 2009 I'm shooting.
Benched they're holding a 2" group.
