Earlier this year I bought my first CZ, a Shadow 2 black/blue, an outstanding pistol that I shoot pretty damn well. Single action trigger is pretty light and very smooth, as is the double action trigger, although it is kind of on the heavy side as compared to my WC Berettas & LTT Elite, all with trigger job/action tune. It feels solid as a tank, is very tight and the FO front sigh really pops. Just a fantastic pistol that would be hard to beat IMHO. Walking past the gun counter at my local Sportsman’s Warehouse a couple of days ago I spotted a Shadow 2 black/black in the counter. As I walked by I happened to notice the price tag. It costs slightly more than 50% MORE than my CZ?? WTF??? Then I noticed it was a AccuShadow 2, massaged by the CZ Custom shop with a trigger job, competition hammer and disconnector, competition springs, different rear sight, lengthened firing pin and a barrel bushing installed. The trigger is absolutely sublime, with a very smooth and much lightened double action pull and a really light and crisp single action trigger. The CZ Custom shop did a superb job with this pistol. Although the last thing I need to do is spend that kind of $$ after just paying off a bunch of debt, that thing is so tempting!

^^^^^^^^^^^ Yep. I like the CZ shadow. The only problem I have with the gun is that the trigger is a long reach for my hands. Sell the Berettas. Sounds like a sweet upgrade.

Sell whatever you need to sell to get that AccuShadow2. I shoot CZs better than my 1911s and Sigs. I think CZs are awesome esp the ones out of the custom shop.

I have both a CZ Custom Shadow Target SAO and an Accushadow. Don’t sell both Beretta. Sell one and a kidney. They are worth it.

I just had CZ Custom shop work over a new matte stainless CZ75B. I had them switch it to SAO with 3.5lb trigger pull, and did their entire CZ custom thing on it. Sites, disconnect, trigger, etc. etc...... It is an awesome pistol. Super accurate, great trigger, great feel. I also have a CZ75B SA and the CZ custom is worth the difference!

If you don't mind a project you can get parts from Cajun Gun works and transform a Shadow 2 trigger into something special.Lots of videos on how to tear down, polish, and reinstall parts. An 11.5# hammer spring, extended firing spring, reduced trigger return spring, along with a good polish job will amaze you. If you want perfection also install their adjustable sear and competition hammer. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." Thanks for the information. I have done some light trigger work, mainly on Berettas and SIGs in the past, and did a mainspring swap in an Armalite AR 24 pistol years ago, so I have had some experience. I have also done some reading on various forums about trigger work on CZs, so I am kind of familiar with what is usually done on them and where to get the parts. Having said that, the triggers on both my WC Berettas with the action tune, and especially with the Langdon LTT have kind of opened my eyes to results that experts get. On top of that I have already checked out this pistol and it is amazing in every way!! Either way it would be stupidly spent $$ because I don’t shoot competitively, or regularly for that matter. Not that I haven’t stupidly spent $$ in the past, mind you! I really love my black/blue Shadow 2 and will keep it as is at least for now.

After several days of mulling it over, doing lots of reading and visiting the Sportsman’s Warehouse (less than a mile from my house) several times I took the plunge and bought the AccuShadow this evening. Included in the box were the bushing wrench, a few allen wrenches, brush, cleaning rod, several replacement shock buffers, three mags, an over side safety lever (one recent buyer of a Shadow 2 complained he didn’t get the oversized safety lever) and a real test target. Whomever test-fired this pistol was a hell of a shot! There is a one-hole group that measures 3/4” wide extreme outside edge to extreme outside edge! Unfortunately I don’t know at what range the target was shot at; presumably 25 yards? The trigger is amazing, with specs listed on the target as SA 3.5 lbs and DA 8.25. While the DA pull is very smooth and short I am just a bit surprised that it isn’t a bit lighter. Having said that, although it is heavier than the DA trigger on my Langdon Tactical LTT Elite with the trigger job (my best DA/SA trigger), it is shorter, and has minimal over travel. Reset is insanely short as well. SA trigger has a slight rolling pull just before the break. Trigger is amazing and I assume it will get a bit better over time. The bushing is really tight and there seems no perceptible movement of the barrel in the bushing. it locks up like a bank vault! Surprisingly there is perceptively more vertical movement in the front of the slide than on my black/blue Shadow 2, which is REALLY tight. There is no detectable horizontal movement in either slide, and both pistols are incredibly smooth. This was kind of a stupid purchase on my part, but not the first ! I just like nice stuff and am really looking forward to a trip to the range tomorrow.

Made it to the range today for the first time in months and actually did pretty well for my skill level. When I shoot a new pistol for the first time I usually load just one round and shoot it for a function test, then load two to make fire it will feed but not slam fire, then shoot as I normally would with any other proven pistol. Maybe a bit of overkill but it works for me. I hung my target, ran it out to 7 yards just to get the feel of the pistol, loaded one round and proceeded to hit the bull with the first round! Loaded up the next two and took out the bull of the other two 3” dots with the next two shots. First and second shots were double action also! I then proceeded to load up my stuff and head home because it was only going downhill from there. Just kidding.....pistol shot extremely well, ran 100% and was just a pleasure to shoot. I proceeded to shoot most other targets at 12 yards, doing very well for my skill level. Later, I ran a silhouette target out to 20 yards and put 18 of 20 rounds into the head, one into the neck and tossed one lone round. For me that was outstanding, especially since I hadn’t shot in at least 4 months and I shoot a lot of different pistols including striker fired, SAO and traditional double action pistols of various brands, and let’s face it that I am at the age where the eyes just aren’t what they used to be. Action was very smooth and pistol went right back on target quickly. SA trigger was awesome, as was the DA in which it was pretty light but, for me, broke at a point well out from the frame. For some reason I struggle with a DA trigger that breaks close to the frame. Overall I am beyond thrilled with the new AccuShadow, even though my shooting skills don’t do it justice. No changes planned except maybe trying a set of gray aluminum grips from the CZ store just for kicks as I saw a picture of a Shadow 2 with those grips and I really liked the look.

It pains me.... a lot but I sold three very very unique and rare p220’s to pay off debt and to buy a CZ shadow 2. It shoots so so so good. Can’t compare to my X5 tactical , my original Beretta elite II or any of my custom GLOCK 34’s and 17L’s ________________________ "The Revolver -A more elegant weapon from a more civilized age."
