LGS had a factory shoot today and SIG was there with other manufacturers.

I was able to shoot the original P365 shorty after it came out and did not shoot it very well with the 10 round magazine.

Been wanting to try a P365XL and today was the day. I shot the P365XL Spectre with the iron sights. Only ten rounds but almost all shots were on target just a little to the left. Nice perceived recoil too and easy to shoot faster. I like shooting the P365XL better than both the Shield Plus and the new Shadow Systems CR920 that was there also but to be fair to the CR920 it had the short 10 round grip and will try that one again after it comes out in late April according the Shadow System folks and they will have a demo day for it at the range again then with the larger grip too. Currently my micro 9MM pistol is the original Walther PPS that I just adore.

One question is that I was told that the Spectre has a different grip than the standard P365XL. Is the size of the grip of both the same other than texture? I just am interested in the standard P365XL and if I got one would probably get the Wilson Cobat grip for it.

Thanks for any feedback. Smile

The Spectre has what Sig calls the TXG grip. It’s the exact same “normal” grip module with some laser engraving for texture. Alternatives are the Grayguns laser engraved module which is also the same grip module but with better laser engraving to my eye. Or, Wilson Combat sells a grip module that is dimensionally similar but slightly more palm swell for a “girthier” feel in your hand.

I’m sure you know this, but on that larger grip you can use either the XL slide or the standard short 365 slide to fulfill whatever need you prefer.

Thanks, exactly what I wanted to know. Smile Yeah good point that I should also try a P365X too before making a decision to buy. Seems like a good time to be buying as there are a lot of pistols in the local gun stores these days with prices going down a bit due to intense competition in the "micro" 9MM category.

The P365XL is a great shooter. I have three of them. I carry one daily, have one to train with and the 3rd is just a spare that I picked up for a great deal. I rotate them every other month or so.

I shoot this pistol just as good as Glock 19 or P320 sized guns yet is carries so much easier.

I did upgrade my 12rd mags with the magguts springs making them 14rd mags. My preferred carry round for the XL is the Federal 124gr +P HST. Between the 3 guns I easy have over 5K rounds thru them, probably closer to 7K rounds.

I too picked one up recently. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. I'm a short guy with smallish hands, and it felt nice, and well balanced. I really looking forward to breaking this one in!

I also really like the 365 XL. It shoots great, almost as good as my 320 legion. My go to carry used to be a S&W Shield gen 1. But that’s a paperweight now!

The 365 family is the best gun to be introduced in a decade. Rarely can you use the term ground breaking and not sound idiotic. They were ground breaking, they spawned a whole new breed of small, reasonable capacity, very shootable guns.

I have a handful now because they are that good. I have small ones, bigger ones, red dot ones, even a comped one now.

They shoot outsize for their dimensions. I like shooting them more than compact sized guns now.

I'm not buying many new guns these days, but the P365XL has my attention.

I picked up a 365XL with a Romeo Zero this past Monday. So far I’ve only put 100 rounds of Blazer Brass through it and...I love it. Out of the case it shot a little to the left but I believe it was the shooter
