I have had mine for over a decade, I purchased it at Academy, it was an import from a over build of a French contract, came with the Ilfalon finish.

I bought it because it was the closest to my old P228 I could find and afford at the time. In the intervening years it has visited the secret workshop in Spray for rework of the FCU (both the installed DA/SA and a DAO) and installation of a blacked out rear sight with a wider gap (at the recommendation of Mr. Gray.

It has been through a Practical Fundamentals and a GORUCK Firearms Day. It was the firearm of choice for TX and IL carry qualification and was used when I became qualified as an NRA instructor. It is my bedside gun and is sporting an XC-1.

I have flat base plates and extended capacity mags. Bottom line, it is my favorite gun.

But to answer Mr. Jones question, I'd like to see a no rail version specifically for concealed carry. It is not a perfect form, but is nearly so for me and always shots better than I can.

Interesting. My 9MM SP2022 had a wonderful SA and DA trigger out of the box. Mine was one of the German made French contract over runs with the internal extractor.

I have the same version; German made triple and my trigger pull DA and SA is better than any classic SIG I've ever owned.

I would have liked if P226 magazines were compatible.

I miss my Sig Pro. I have to agree about making the front of the grip longer. Pinched the hell out of my pinky a few times. Not fun. I'd like to see a short reset option for it as well.

I picked one up yesterday and hope to make it to the range on Friday to try it out. It was used, but never fired and priced at $389 + tax so I bought it.

This is a excellent idea. Especially taking into consideration more velocity from 9mm and 357 Sig. Mine was SP2340 and I honestly liked the rail of its Swiss frame better than the 2022. Only minor issue I ever had was hand over slide racking. The angled slide serrations need to carry over the top edges of its slide for a more positive grasp.

I'd go with a longer slide version in a heartbeat. In fact, to a fullsize grip version I'd love to see a 5 and 6 inch barrel upper with adjustable rear sight. These guns are phenomenally accurate and for field use such a version would be sweet.

And, I'm just going to say it...

Release it in a .22 high velocity round like the .22 TCM or whatever will fit in the standard 9mm magazines.

I would love a .22 TCM barrel for it. I don't own one yet, but this is my new favorite round. No recoil, 2000 fps, giant ball of fire makes Skins smile big time.

I wish SIG made a complete 22lr upper. That would make mine 4 caliber guns like my P226s & P229s.

Make the decocker tab more pronounced like on the old fabricated models! All it needs is to be bent out just a smidgen!

And while you're at it, give the front of the frame the SIG profile, not that of the P250/P320 subcompact frame. Make it look like a SIG.

I wouldn't mind a half inch shorter snout and No rail myself if Sig was to revamp the SP2022. Maybe another single stack variant around the size of the P239 as well? Just please don't change the trigger! Its DA/SA is superb!

When I had one the only thing I did't like was the rail, but only because I don't use WML. Otherwise I thought it to be great but if we need to change something then thinner is all.

I have a couple of 2340's, purchased as blue force products. They're a bit long in the tooth, but basically a polymer 229.

The plastic appears harder and more brittle than Glock material, leading me to wonder when it will start to crack or fail with age.

I have the best friends! I helped one of my buddies with some things and he bought me a 2022 I was eyeballing in the used case a few weeks ago. Got it yesterday. Box is marked 1/2016. Is that production date? May not have been shot much- mag springs were stiff as a board. Anything I should know? I see improvements suggested for the gun- I agree with many of them but wonder if there are any things I need to think of as a new shooter of 2022s?

Just get a lot of ammo to go with you to the range and clean/lube it first too.

At one time I owned 5 Sig Pros. If I could change anything it would just be to make the trigger reset shorter. The thing is built like a tank and is the most underrated Sig.

I never liked the look or feel of the base plates. Someone from this forum however, was nice enough to send be two so my 2022 looks a little nicer and streamlined.

The 2022 is a little chunky as compared other 15 rnd pistols but as other pointed out, the SP2022 is built to last and I would guess if there were ever to be a pistol vs pistol torture test (very costly project) I would think the 2022, with its very substantial rails and build quality, would surprise many.

I like everything about it. The gun provides the shooter extreme confidence in durability and reliability and those are very important to me.

Strengthen the magazine release spring, it is too easy to depress.
