ah3The Rattler in 300 BLK has a purpose. The only purpose I can think of for the 5.56 Rattler is to buy one used after the original buyer shoots it one time and then sells it. Buy it on the cheap and then swap the barrel out to a 300 BLK. Seriously though, given the ballistics of 5.56 and the barrel lengths it was designed for, hard pass on the 5.56 Rattler.

MikeNH5.56 out of a super short barrel is tons of lost energy. This is a clip from a friend shooting his 10.5" barrel 5.56. Muzzle flash looks cool but lost energy is all it is.

DanHIt's not all wasted. It is a 30 round flashbang generator that will disorient your target if you happen to miss them.

.
The large flash and very loud noise will disorient the shooter just as much, I think.

monoblokPersonally hate shooting short-barreled 5.56 guns, but of course YMMV. No recoil nastiness but just too annoying to the senses, particularly my hearing even when wearing a full 2-layer assembly of quality earpro. Reflective concussion is rather irritating as well, brake or no brake installed. Just not my idea of a fun range session.

deadmanmikeIt’s like shooting a 308 with none of the advantages
