I've always looked at RIA stuff as inexpensive but of decent quality and just came across this new offering of theirs, the 5.0E, that looks kind of interesting. But, the MSRP of nearly $2k blew me away. Eek Let's assume street price of about $1.7k, who's going to pay that much for something wearing the RIA name?

"RIA 5.0E is a game-changer, packing revolutionary features and stellar performance," said Lisa Tuason, President of RIA-USA.
"The RIA 5.0E is set to redefine industry standards and empower our customers like never before because it’s going to blow them away." Roll Eyes

That is crazy Q.

Also always thought of RIA as decent and cheap 1911. Kinda the Kel-Tec of 1911.

No way in hell i would spend 1.7-2 grand for RIA anything.

I've looked at their stuff too Q but most has been reasonably priced and decent reviews. I doubt this one will fly far.

I like RIA but this 5.0E is nuts. They released the 5.0 in January with a msrp of $1k. Never seen one in the wild and I was looking for one. Fast forward 10months and the 5.0E is announced, with double the msrp.

That "safety tab" on the trigger looks... Odd to me.

Considering that the Desert Eagle in 50ae can be found for less, I wonder where the final street price will end up.

Get a CZ P-10 for a third of the price.

It's a Game Gun. If it checks all the boxes and allows shooters to get even a tiny edge on the competition it will sell. For example, just a tiny bit less muzzle flip might be enough to gain a tiny edge of just 1/10 second in a sting of fire and that is enough to turn someone competitive in their class into a Class Champion.

I've stopped counting.

I initially had the same thought but upon further investigation it appears that the 5.0E is actually chambered in 9mm. The naming is confusing. The marketing materials don't help, either....they never actually state the chambering unless you go look on the RIA website, and the video says it's "the perfect 10", which for a second made me think it might be a 10mm. Typical marketers...more interested in fluff than facts.

So I'm guess the $1K increase in price over the original one is because this one works??

This thing is a 9mm? Nobody is spending $2k on this gigantic lump if so. There are much nicer, more elegant products for far less.

Looks like I might be able to get a real high grip on it, I'd love to try one. Sure not going to buy one at 2k. But then I probably wouldn't at $500 either, not unless it completely blew me away.

Nothing about 4lb trigger sounds like it would.

It's also Made in the USA so we aren't going to get Philippine pricing on this compared to their other offering. Here's a review of the previous version released at SHOT:

It's not a .50AE caliber gun. BUT this pill you would have to swallow to get into the mindset to pay this kind of cash for a RIA is roughly twice the size of a .50AE round.

Truthfully I have never shot the 5.0 as I have missed SHOT for the last several years due to a Family health issue

However a buddy of mine that is a now retired competitor bought one and loves it. He is trying to get me to come and visit so I could shot it

He loves the 5.0 so much that he bought a second one about 6 weeks ago

Looks interesting. But we'll never see it here unless RIA feels pity and makes them with 10 rounders, or laws get overturned.

Yeah, I get it, the original 5.0 was also US made with US pricing at $900 something. For this "enhanced" one to be at nearly $2k is just ridiculous.

STI had a model they also called a 'Perfect 10'.

A 6" 2011 chambered in 10mm with an extra magazine.

I got mine for about what they are asking for this one.
