My son bought his first firearm today Sig P320X5 Legion
My son turned 21 last summer and has been looking at Sigs since then. He bought what he wanted, the Sig P320X5 Legion. It is in lockup until his NICS check goes through in the next couple of days. I'm happy for him. He never settles, just waits until he gets what he wants. It is all paid for, now just the wait to pick it up. He choose it in grey.

Good for him! The only bitch I have is with the multi-day waiting period! That's bulls--t!!! In NH, we have instant NICS check. The most I've waited is 20 minutes!!!

I've experienced short 20 minute waits and 2 day waits on my NICS checks. NJ acts as if they are doing you a favor by doing the checks. They originally closed the checks down until the Feds said they were essential.

Great gun. It’s the first handgun I’ve ever bought solely as a “range toy.” Got it from our very own DaBigBR. It is a TON of gun for the price. Highly recommend he get an adapter plate from Springer Precision and put a Holosun 507CV2 on it. It will greatly enhance a great firearm.

My first handgun was acquired on my 21st birthday. It was a S&W M&P 40 that was an Atlanta PD trade-in. I carried it on duty as a reserve deputy for a year.

A hearty congrats to him. Great choice; a very nice shooter. Even one of my coworkers decided to buy one late last year despite the legal ramifications here with pistol purchases. He just couldn't get over how sweet it was.

They're not inexpensive, but so far as features and function go, probably the best bargain in the Sig lineup.

That man has excellent taste ! Well done.

Now, on to decide the next gun, and the next gun, and so on

Great first choice. One option is to pick up a lighter weigh full-size, grip module (Wilson Combat, Grayguns, etc.) for times you don't want the heavy target pistol feel.

He picked it up today. We did a quick take down so he could see how it was done. In a day or two we will clean it. I asked him to watch some videos on people cleaning and disassembly it so he gets familiar with it. He is a big boy and the Sig fits well. For myself, it would be a little too heavy after shooting for a while. Now we need our ranges to open.
He registered it with Sig and they are sending him a carrying case for free.

The Dawson fibre optic sights are popular on P320's for competition, and tend to shoot right to point of aim. I put them on several P320's for matches. Most of my pistols have Trijicon HD's and XR's; the Dawson sights are the perfect height for the P320, and except in darkness, the front sight is very visible under most conditions. I just ordered two more sets for P320's.
