12131New fun gun: the MK25 Legion FrankenP226
Upper: MK25 complete assembly from Osage's recent smoking $290 sale. Long external extractor needs not apply.
Lower: Complete P226 Legion frame with The Sig Armorer's Carry Level Action job, Super Strut system and QTR, acquired elsewhere. I'm super glad to have run into this WTS ad, because the MK25 upper was in need of a permanent home. As expected, Robert's work is exemplary. DA pull is silky smooth at 7.7 lbs (avg 10 pulls on the Lyman digital scale), and SA broke "like glass" at 3.1 lbs (avg 10).
About the only negative I can say of this FrankenSIG is the Legion slide catch/release lever. When you've been so used to the regular sized one, this tiny thing takes some getting used to. Overall, however, a fantastic gun.
Took it out for a quick session today, and it was flawless. What do you expect from a P226, right?

Modern Day SavageI REALLY REALLY like the configuration on this project gun! My dilemma with the Legion classic P series is that there are certain features that I really like and would be willing to pay for, and a couple features that I really don't want.
Your
custom frankengun configuration eliminates a couple of the Legion
negatives, and
supercharges performance with the action job...
...and it looks fantastic! I'm a little surprised that the different finishes on the slide and frame blend so well together.

Absolutely agree. The Legion controls look sharp, but the first time I held a Legion I immediately disliked the controls as soon as I tried to manipulate them.

That looks AWESOME!
Can you please provide more information/link about the Carry Action Lever Job referenced above?

jljonesIt appears that the classic Elite line is currently being shipped with Legion frames.
I handled one down at a Nashville gun shop last weekend. Same frame as a Legion without the stupid controls.

Dakorjjones - This move by Sig made me wish I waited to purchase the latest Elite, before purchasing a Legion a few months back. Chalk up another dumb and confusing move by Sig marketing.

Agreed. I’m probably going to pick one up and have it cut for a RMR.

Blume9mmYou mean like this?
But with a Grey guns flat trigger?
But then I really prefer this:
(my latest add on to my legion lower)
But then I really got the MK25 slide for this standard 'elite' lower:

darthfusterLove it! When I was a youngling I built model cars from kits available at hobby stores. At some point it occurred to me to mix kits up and invent my own car. Some of them came out fairly radical. This Franken gun reminded me of those days. 10 atta-boys to you.

How does your MK25 "Elite" work as far as accuracy, did you make it from a .40 or 357 host?
And yes I like the combos for sure, that $290 complete navy slide with night sights was a real deal

David LeeNice build Q. You hid the little 12131 right in the grip screw slot..

. That's very original. And you planted one in its extractor slot too..

Blume9mmI have to admit to not having had time to get to my gun club and try out the last several pistols and modifications I have.... but as soon as I get some time I'll give them a go and report back here.
