Was y'all's loss and my gain.... this 40 cal I started this thread with sat in the classifieds here for a month and a half. I will admit to being hesitant on this one because the member / seller only had like 20 post but he had joined back in 2020 and I went back and checked those 20 post. No problems at all with the transaction and I feel I got a good fair deal.

Bruce Gray specifically stated that the .40 beats up the P239 frame rails after a while. He did not mention the .357 causing excess wear, though. Probably will not, as the recoil impulse is so different.

I've never shot a P239 in .40 but I could if I had the ammo... I've got several .40 cal barrels... maybe I will buy a box of ammo and see if there is a difference.. All I know is .357 sig has a pretty serious kick in the p239... I've acquired several from folks just because of this. I lube my rails with grease ever since I read about it here on this forum.

Edit: but also keep in mind the slides for the P239 are different weights for the 9mm and 357/40.
9mm slide with barrel and spring: 15 oz
357/40 slide with 357 barrel and spring: just under 17oz.

I hadn't shot a 9mm in about a year so when I got my standard trigger installed and got the CT lasergrips I was ready to try it out. I set the laser just above the front sight at 10 yards and started blasting away. I forgot how much fun the P239 is to shoot. Also like someone else mentioned the CT lasergrips fit my medium sized hand perfectly. A good afternoon shooting a great gun.
