The one issue I have with the P239 is the factory grips ... P239 factory grips are too thin. But a good set of Hogue grips (or Crimson Trace for me) with finger grooves fits my medium sized hands perfectly.

The Nills grips also nicely fill the hand



As well as the Altomonte grips that were shipped on the original SAS P239s

I love my P239 and will probably just pass it down to my nephew. Mine is in 40, here with one of Ryan Grizzle's holsters.

That's a Nightengale Leather Co holster and a Peregrine model. It's been a great holster and I highly recommend his work. He's a member of this forum but I haven't seen a post by him in quite awhile.

Anybody know where I can pick up a 357 sig bbl?

Hope to have one again in a few days. Two Tone SAS 9mm DA/SA version. I'll post some pics when I get it home.

My first was the SAS DAK in .40. Our department issued .40 cal Glocks. So, I had free ammo for my off duty. Picked up a 357 SIG barrel and magazines. That was a perfect combo.

Liked it so much, I bought a 9mm P239 DAK.

To this day, the 357 Sig is my most carried gun. The 9mm, my most shot gun at the range. Commonality of platforms and all.

Picked up a new to me P239 Two Tone SAS 9mm today. Looks like about a 2007-2008 model. It has a few little handling marks but overall in very good condition. The owner had the barrel DLC coated because he didn't like the Sig finish. Rails look really good. Bonus of 5 like new mags. Not sure how I will mod it going forward, but leaning towards Crimson Trace lasergrips. Maybe X ray sights. I've had several P239s in the past and have always been fond of them. Photos below.

I tried Crimson Trace grips, but found that the laser made me slower. Aim the pistol once, then double check if the light is on target. A dot sight is as fast as iron sights, and just as accurate as a laser.

If you are talking about a holographic sight(red dot) I can't use them because of astighmatism. The dot is not clear for me. I think I will go with the laser or with X ray sights. X rays are pretty fast on target and would be a great choice. Still undecided.

The problem I've found with lasers is you have to turn them on. The easiest and best are the grip ones but you still have to train your grip to turn it on 'naturally'. What I have found with the P239 is I pretty much am pointed at the point of impact 'naturally' with out the laser or the iron sights. Probably just me and my hand size but with a combat type grip such as the Crimson Trace lasers or the Hogue ones... it seems to be a perfect fit for me.

I replaced my short reach trigger with a standard P239 trigger and installed my new Crimson Trace lasergrips. Need to shoot and adjust the laser, hopefully tomorrow. Should be a good one!

I picked up this 239 used as a police trade in 40 cal. Before I left the parking lot of my dealer, I called Sig and got a .357 barrel and several .357 magazines coming my way.



I like these wood Hogue grips a lot better than the rubber ones.
