For folks who have/had both, are there any noticeable differences regarding grip size? When I had the SF RTF2, it was still a little bulky for me. Is the Gen5's grip any smaller? Thanks. Q

The general "principle" was that Glock used the "SF" grip fore-aft dimensions as their guideline for creating the Gen4 version when those first came out. Then when the Gen5 came along, Glock took the Gen4 grip and 'simply' deleted the finger groove ridges, though there's a bit more than that since the front strap texture was also changed as a result of the finger grooves disappearing. But in theory, where the finger grooves were on the Gen3 SF frames, the same corresponding position on the Gen5 frame should measure should measure the same...in theory. My own personal experiences with the Gen3 SF vs Gen4 has been that the Gen4 has always 'felt' a tad smaller. As to how that translates to the Gen5 vs the Gen4, they sort of seem about the same dimension-wise to me, except now I can instead place my all of strong hand fingers much higher on the grip rather than put them where Glock thinks I should have them. That kind of colors my perception; as much as I like my Gen4 G20 and G21, I prefer the Gen5 grip more. -MG

Monoblok pretty much covered it. The grip size of the Gen 3 SF = Gen 4 with no backstraps = Gen 5 with no backstraps (but with the finger grooves deleted) So unless it's simply the placement of the finger grooves that caused it to feel too bulky in your hands, the Gen 5 grip isn't going to be any smaller than the Gen 3 SF that you disliked.

I have fairly medium sized hands. I don't have meat hooks by any stretch. In MY hands all the Gen 5s, including the G21 FEEL subjectively smaller to me. I cannot speak to the objective sizes/numbers but like I said FEEL smaller to me. Now the G21 is a big honkin' firearm and the Gen5 is no different but man it felt good to me where as the Gen4 never did. The Gen3s feel massive to me. Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris
