Does anyone know if sig has a link to check on the status of a warranty repair? I look all the sig site and found nothing.

I’ve only sent a few pistols in for repair in my lifetime, and never a SIG.
But, my experience with Beretta, Ruger, RIA, & GLOCK has been that the only notification/update I received was MAYBE a shipping notice, but usually the only notification I got was the repaired gun showing up.

Prior to the crud most repairs could be accomplished and returned to the owner within a ten day period. That's been my experience. The crud has probably effected that to some degree.

Have you attempted to contact SIG customer service for an update?

They don't have anything like that to my knowledge. While I don't have any direct experience with the SIG warranty department I do have experience with some other manufacturers. The ones I'm familiar with have no way for you to check other than calling. Though they do give (a pretty accurate) estimate of the time to get it done before you send it in. I can say in their case the warranty department is full of a bunch of skilled people working as quick as they can. The more time they spend on the phone answering questions about when something will be done is time they could be spending actually getting stuff done. I'd leave them alone to work so they can spend time focusing on the warranty work, unless it's been some unreasonable amount of time or some other special circumstance. Did you get any sort of time estimate?

I'm pretty sure the guy answering the phones isn't the same guy doing the repairs. I could be wrong, but it strikes me a gunsmith probably gets paid more than the phone dude.

That'a also true at the places I know. How it works in those cases. Customer calls customer service, customer service takes their info and passes it on to gunsmith, gunsmith sees what status is and calls customer back.

Anything done to any firearm is noted in their proprietary computer system. Any parts drawn have to be noted no matter how small. CS will check that system. They aren't going to contact the tech doing the work in most cases because they work different hours.

Normally the turnaround is quick unless they are waiting on parts. But as you can imagine everything has been slowed down considerably.

That may be the case at SIG, I don't know. Is it? I do know that's not how it works at some other places.

thanks everyone I'll just call them. I was hoping there would be an easier way to check but clearly there's not.

So, how long has it been since you shipped it in?
