Finally received the Holosun SCS 320 today after being on backorder since April (released at Shot Show '23).

Haven't had a chance to shoot with it yet but like the setup. Specifically made for the 320 so no mounting plate needed. Solar charging system with internal battery/capacitor - no battery to physically change. Sealed emitter with green dot, circle, or both. Also auto adjusts brightness based on ambient lighting.

Nice!

I am a huge fan of this optic on my Glocks. I haven’t had any issues with the auto-adjust, even when I shot it in a match. Tough, brilliant little optic!

I have the Holosun SCS on my Glock 45 MOS EDC. I’ve been very pleased with it so far.

Nice setup you have there. I also have the same PL-Mini 2 Valkyrie WML but I don’t carry it; I attach it at night when I put the gun down for nightstand duty.

How long is the capacitor charge? I love the idea, but hate having to only rely on light to charge it.

I really want one of these but I have to buy a MOS or a VP9 to get the one I want.

I had a Glock MOS SCS for about six months. It spent most of its time in a Pelican style case. It was never dead. Holosun has some data in the manual about normal charging and discharging rates. I have not read or watched a review (and I have read/watched several) where the reviewer had it go dead. The reason the SCS line is only available in green, in fact, is that Holosun's green emitters are more power efficient than red.

The US based Holosun guys are shooters and are aware of the defensive use of their products.

I am very intrigued by the newly released SCRS, which is available in red and green and has manual brightness control.

Don’t think anyone’s tried to run one down but this is from Holosun’s website: ‘The SCS can potentially operate indefinitely using an internal, rechargeable 20,000-hour battery meaning under even moderate exposure to bright light, you will never need to change batteries again.’

I watched a YouTube review from ClassicFirearms and they indicated that the solar cell would run the emitter at full power with minimal ambient light even if the capacitor was dead.

I’ve been going in circles looks at red dots for my P320 but this is what I’m leaning toward. Are the standard irons usable or do you need suppressor sights? I was looking at the EPS but don’t like it not being a full fit in the DPP footprint.

mdblanton have you had the chance to shoot it? I just ordered mine a couple days ago, excited to get it. I have to renew my CCW in a couple weeks so I’m hoping to get this to the range and try to shoot my “Qual” with it. I’m just hoping to see how the stock irons look behind it as I read some say they’re unusable and some say you can still see the top of them and use them if needed…

Yes, was quite happy with it. All of my other optics have red dot or circle/dot. The green is at least as easy to pick up to me. My XCompact requires loss of the rear site when mounting an optic. I believe some of the newer slide cuts moved the optic mounting location forward to preserve the rear site. With 124 Speer Gold Dots (Speer brand ammo) I didn't have to adjust zero at all from the factory and the circle/dot rests right on top of my front sight making alignment pretty easy.

Glad to hear you like it. Mine will be here in a couple days so excited to check it out. Mine has the optic in front of the rear sight so I’ll see how useable the stock sights are.

Well on mine there is zero co-witness, in my second picture you I’m in just dot mode and placed the dot on the top of the front sight, if I’m going through the rear irons I can’t see the front sight at all. I’m liking it so far, the brightness auto adjust works well so far. Hoping to shoot it soon and see how it works out.

Shot mine for first time a few days ago. Really liked it and it was right on out of the box, didn’t have to make any adjustments. Only problem was user error and didn’t clean out the screw holes so after awhile I noticed my groups opening up. Shot the optic loose. Cleaned out the screw holes and cleaned up the screws with isopropyl alcohol, reapplied blue locktite, and qualified for my CCW yesterday with ease. Instructor claimed my 4 shot group at 10yds was probably about an inch… Only had to shoot 16 rounds at my CCW so looking to take it out again and run 100+ rounds to make sure it’s nice and secure, but other than that, really like it.

Does anyone that has one of these know if it will fit on a gun cut for the DPP that has the recoil bosses on it?

I believe so, there are two indents towards the front and two towards the rear that I just assumed were for recoil lugs that aren’t on my 320.

I can't decide if this would be idea for CCW on a DPP slide P220 or the Romeo X optic. About the same price. My head says Romeo X. Wish they would get here.

If you went the Holosun route, you'd have to factor in getting suppressor height sights installed for a co-witness if you're going a CCW.

Have an SCS on an M&P 2.0 Metal and Walther PDP.

Absolutely love them both.

I understand that the Sig Romeo X Pro fits the commercial version of the M-18, and that a built-in rear sight on the optic cowitnesses with the normal height front sight. Do I have that right? For me that would make the Romeo preferable to the Holosun.
