AR Pistols. Ruger AR556 -vs- PSA's 10.5" carbine???
Looking at entry-level AR pistols.
The Ruger AR556 (at Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore) and Palmetto State Armory's AR pistol (also a 10.5" barrel like the Ruger) are about the same price.
Both come with SBA3 braces and are optics-ready.
Pro's and Con's of either one?
Preferences?

I’ve got a Ruger AR556 16” carbine that has been perfect with anything other than Tula steel case...the pistol should be about the same...

I bought a PSA 10.5” complete upper that I installed onto a lower I built as a pistol...it feeds everything 100%...

Either should be GTG.

I'd take ruger as a vendor every time over PSA.

Either would be fine. Go for the best price or features you want.

The Ruger has a higher resale value.

In typical gun forum style I will mention a gun you did not even ask about. I bough a Saint AR Pistol from Grab A Gun for $750, $8 shipping. I think it has gone up $25 since. It has great features and has been fantastic with all ammo. It has no sighting so you will need to purchase your choice.

I have an early AR556 pistol. It was a jam-o-matic at first. It went back to Ruger twice before they got it fixed.
But it is fixed. Even runs steel cased ammo now.

I only have one experience with PSA on a 300blk pistol I put together, but I have not had to use their support.

Personally, even considering the issues I had with the Ruger, I would still take them over PSA.

Take a good look at the Springfield Saint, it’s awesome, love mine.

Either should be fine but as Fredward said the Ruger would have a higher resale value.

So if they are the same price I'd go with the Ruger.

I bought my Dad one of the PSA 10.5" and its been 100%. I would pony a little more cash for the CHF barrel and not even look at the Ruger.

I don't buy firearms thinking about resale.

PSA every day of the week.
As mentioned you should get the chf bbl and the nickle boron bcg and bang away.

I’ve had both....and the Ruger is a better gun. To me. Runs everything I’ve put through it.
