10/13:

Got the slide back from Sig yesterday and sights in the mail today.

Went with XS black serrated rear and Orange-outlined tritium front, you know cause I can’t well enough leave Orange alone.

I say I’m 99% done cause I’m gonna have a machinist match the radius on the compensator, it just so slightly touches the slide here, and I think matching radii will look better.

9/27:

Picked up the frame, decided on sights. Just waiting on the slide back from Sig and gotta place the order for the sights tomorrow.

I think it’s gonna look pretty darn good.

9/21:

2 packages in, 1 out this week.

Sent the slide to Sig for Nitron. Received the comp screws from Numrichs and the Nills I was looking for from a forum member.

It’s coming together, some light surface rust on the frame will require some clean up when I pick it up Monday.

OP:

Slide heads back to Sig tomorrow.

Grips are incoming. Screws for compensator are on order.

Not sure what sights yet. I love truglos but probably plain black on this one.

Got some small parts to replace on the frame. Gotta look at that once I pick up the frame next Monday.

That is awesome. With that comp. you have, you are going to have to show us the completed gun. I have always had a fondness for those models and look forward to your project completion.

Yeah gonna install the compensator…

Add some new sights, grips, and probably refinish the slide since I kinda dig that reverse two tone look.

Not sure what else, thought about 2 seconds to mill the slide but decided against it.

I’ll be honest I like that more than the DWX’s. Smile. I have the old 220 stainless base gun with the original rail for the sport comp and it’s a beast. I love it. The sport comp one’s though……”I’ll be in my bunk”. Smile

Looks great! Although I am biased in favor of blackened stainless steel plus natural wood grips, each addition complements the others.

Very nice. Those compensator have to be the rarest accessory I know of. Would love to find one.

I bought a 220ST when they first came out, it has the sport frame.I found the comps for sale at Numurch for $25 each, I bought two. I polished one and left the other stock.
My original idea was to have a scope rail welded to the comp so I could remove it easily and return the gun to stock configuration ( remember this is before red dots for handguns was done) Sig had a factory scope mount that would fit the Sport frame (I remember members here having the scope mount). Remove the slide, swap the barrel for the required longer barrel and you are ready to go. The scope would not take a beating because the scope mount was not attached to the slide.
I dropped the project but still have the 2 comps.
My other problem was the choice of two front sights.I could leave the P220ST front sight and not install a front sight on the comp or, remove the P220ST front sight and use the comps front sight. I did not like the P220ST slide not having a front sight and was was not willing to completely turn my P220ST into a Sport.
I thought about using two front sights, moving the rear sight up and over the factory sight. The entire project started to get ridiculous so I abandoned it.
I shot the gun with the comp and found little to no difference with the comp on or off. The only advantage I could see might have been the longer sight radius if I removed the factory front sight and only used the comps front sight.I was not willing to do this.
Someday I may sell one of the comps.I did not think of it as an investment when I bought them.

i'm not sure if the comp without the 5 1/2" barrel is usable!!

You must have the extended barrel to use the comp.
