Just when I thought I was joining the 21st century and transitioning to striker fired pistols and even started carrying one with a dot, this comes out. A lightweight 1911 Commander sized gun with an optics cut. No rails or anything else, just basic 1911 goodness with an optic.

Damn you Springfield Armory!

I recently purchased 2 LW Commanders, a Tisas and then a Ruger. Both are 9mm and easy to shoot.

Whatever you do, don’t check out the Commander models in 10mm that Tisas has on the market.

Grab A Gun had them for sub-$500 recently. Mine is 100 rounds in with zero hiccups.

Damn near the perfect gun.

Don't say that! I almost bought one of those the last time PSA had them for ~$550 and talked myself out of it. I have other gun expenses on the list right now and don't need the distraction!

It's cool to see that Springfield is coming out with an OR variant of the Ronin. I'm not a big fan of the plate solution, but the gun itself is pretty much everything I like in a 1911 and nothing I don't. They also already have 10mm and 9mm versions in the Ronin line, so it's probably only a matter of time before we see an OR variant for those.

Yeah, me either.

But maybe if they get popular enough, Holosun will come out with a plateless direct mount option, like they did for the Glock MOS.

Yes, they had the 5", at least at that moment. Thankfully the 5" isn't as enticing which my bank balance is happy about.

If I come across one of those Ruger SR1911 9mm Lightweight Commanders at a good price, I'll snag it. I had one and let it go because sometimes I am just a moron.

I am on a Springfield Armory 1911 kick myself. 2 stainless Garrisons in 9mm, one Commander, one full size and the stainless mil spec .45 in the last couple months. They have been very fun to shoot and zero issues.

I picked up a Gen 1 Kimber PRO CDP a couple months ago. Replaces one I foolishly sold over 20 years ago.

There are a few on Gunbroker at the same price. Don't ask me how I know. Big Grin

It's a funny thing for me. I never really cared for the 1911 platform and I have had a few over the years but sold them. Now I have a couple I bought in the last couple months and plan on adding another eventually.

There was a Dan Wesson Vigil in 9mm at my LGS for $1199 last week. I'd like to own it but could not justify the cost for a range toy. But it had a sick trigger and some sweet front strap checkering. I'm still thinking about it. Sucks that it came one day before my rent was due.

Very nice. I got a new Combat Elite Government model in 9mm about 2 months ago.

Thanks,
