The VikingThe Zev
https://www.zevtechnologies.com/Don't know if there are any fans of this pistol here; but if you get a chance to shoot one try it. Very Little felt recoil and muzzle flip. Once I start shooting mine, I want to go faster and faster and have a hard time putting it down. Clever maker, who takes advantage of the huge Glock aftermarket. The pistol uses Glock magazines, Glock sights, Gen 3 trigger assemblies, and Glock holsters. I did not like the Zev trigger ( it is sharp on the end and sticks me); so I had a Travis Haley Glock Skimmer Gen 3 trigger with a 5.5lb connector put in my Zev combat pistol. Cat's meow for me. Hard not to like and shoot this pistol

It's merely a hussied-up Glock. It has the same felt recoil and muzzle rise as a Glock, because it is a Glock.

The VikingNope not a Glock by any stretch. Uses some Glock parts: but the guts come out similar to a Sig 320 ( have to drive a pin out in front of the trigger guard). 1911 grip angle - gives less muzzle flip and felt recoil than a Glock. Obviously you never shot or handled one.

The VikingWe are talking about this one ( combat standard)

iron chefIt's not a Glock in the way a Polymer-80 is not a Glock, but uh... OK, I'm glad you're happy w/ your Zev.

The VikingPolymer 80 take down and assembly very different from Zev. Zev more like Sig 320. Kind of different frame design also.

myrottietyIt's a glock clone... same way the Faxon FX-19 is a glock clone.
https://faxonfirearms.com/firearms/fx-19-pistols/I hear they are hit or miss. Some people have no issues with them. But then others end up with failures of one sort or another. More than most factory pistols I'd say.
For me if I were to Gucchi glock I'd probably go with Faxon or Shadow Systems.

The VikingMore like a redesigned more modern Glock. Too different to be a " Glock clone." Clone to me implies more similarities than the Zev has. However, if that floats your boat then ok. Shoots better than my Glock.

The VikingFriend of mine has a Shadow system. Nice pistol - I like it. It is a gussied up Glock. Terrible trigger though - gen 3 Glock all the way.

Uses no Glock parts
No more a Glock than a Wilson Combat is a Colt

The OZ9 is awesome.
It’s no more a Glock than an Ed Brown or Nighthawk is a Colt 1911. The misinformation and ridiculous analogies by people likely with zero experience with them is funny.
I’ll use Sig terms by two guns of the same company. It’s like comparing a Mastershop P226 X-Six with a plain jane American P226. That’s the difference we’re talking about.

You're looking at the wrong aspect. It's not "Glock" as in "brand"; it's "Glock" as in
platform type, as in, for example, the
1911. The Wilson Combat is not a Colt, but it is a 1911.

Fair enough. In this case, my analogy is spot on.
But if people think a Wilson Combat is merely a gussied up Colt, more power to them. I guess a Phoenix Redback is just a gussied up Shadow 2 as well.
After is they are 1911 and CZ clones. In fact, they are actually more of a clone to their respective platforms than the Zev is of a Glock.

No, actually it's not.

It's a Glock

With my apologies to Gaston Zev, inventor of the Zev.

Cool story

Steel subframe, rail and all

cslingerAs far as the 1911 thing goes I have a Colt basic 1991a1 and a Brown and while the Brown is better in every conceivable way it’s still just better 1911. Wilson is no different unless you are taking about their EDC9 series which are arguable their own beast so to speak.
Gucci Glocks run the gamut from just really nice Glocks to almost a completely different gun.

It could be made of porcelain and cost more than you make in a month and it would still be a Glock.
