something like this , but not quite
http://heritagegenealogy.com.a...ds/2013/12/Chart.jpg

at the far left would be "Hand guns"
next right would be
Semi auto , revolver, and single shot

right of semi auto would be s.a.o., d.a.o. and d.a./s.a.

a branch off of the revolvers would be s.a. and d.a.

a branch off of the s.a. revolvers could be blk powder, cartridge and cap and ball

has anyone seen somethin like this?

a branch off of the single shot could be cartridge, black powder or cap and ball and so on

When I read the title, I immediately thought of this:

Like beer with lager yeast or ale yeast, 2 main handgun categories: auto and revolver, then different types branching out from each.

When I first opened your 'tree' I instantly thought, 'This is going to be interesting. We're gonna have a greatest pistol of all time bracket'. Then I reread your post.

Oh well. Wink

this thought came about after a discussion at lunch.

what if someone want to start a handgun collection ,
but the collection would consist of only one handgun of each function type.

one single action cartridge revolver
one double action " "
one single shot cartridge hand gun
one cap and ball ______ ____ ______
and so on

we couldn't come up with how many hand guns a
guy would end up with .
