I have been looking for a HK VP-9 Tactical, so I swing in various gun stores as I travel around the state for work. I have not bought a pistol in probably 8 or so years, so the 320 series, while I know they exist, are a little foreign to me. I do own a P226 X-5 Allround.
Since the gun store I stopped in today did not have a VP-9, but did have the P320 X-5 and it caught my eye, I asked to handle it.
Wow, nice grip. Wow, really nice factory trigger. Good sights. And that finish, wow, I am really digging it. And with a price of $999? I paid $1,300ish for my other X-5, and then had $300 worth of work done to it.
It wasn't the gun I went in after, but it was so close to coming home with me. But my practical side won out as I did not want to make a $999 impulse buy.
Should I have grabbed it? Do those of you who have this gun like it?

Dunno about that gun, but I can tell you making an impulse buy for nearly that kind of money was a heady experience for me yesterday

I enjoy the heck out of mine so much so that my 22 y/o son picked one up as well. We are running them with Romeo1 Pro optics. It’s a fun gun for the money however it’s not in the same category as the X5/X6 German guns but I don’t think it’s meant to be. Ours have been very accurate and totally reliable right out of the box. I did upgrade to a GGI trigger in both guns and the over travel adjustment makes a huge difference. I am now up to 3 1/2 P320s and I am really liking the platform.

I wanted to like the X5 Legion when it came out, but the grip is just too big in my hand.
So instead I am building one. Sig Customworks FCU, ZEV X5 slide and barrel, Sig recoil guide and spring, Wilson Combat full size grip with tungsten weight inserts, and Holosun/Primary Arms 507C ACSS Vulcan. Just waiting for some Dawson iron sights.

The P320 legion is an excellent deal, considering you can't put those components together for close to what the finished pistol costs, and it is a shooter.
I like the TXG grip enough I've bought several to put on various full size P320's for competition, and am getting set to put together a compact slide on the full size sculpted Grayguns TXG frame, with a comp on the front, Grayguns parts inside, etc.
Last time I was home, I went into a shop to buy a magazine, ended up buying a G44. Went into another shop to have a look, bought another suppressor. Sometimes you see something you can use, and the timing is right.
Almost bought is like almost pregnant. Almost got the job. Almost got hit by a truck. Lots of words that mean "didn't."

I impulse bought one yesterday at the SIG Academy pro shop - I shot one at a demo event and had to have one, especially at their special event pricing. This is my first P320.
Question - do you get cowitness with the pistol’s stock front sight and the molded in sight groove on the Romeo1 Pro?

I walked out of my local fun store with a $2k CZ Shadow 2 Orange just yesterday. Didn’t plan on buying anything when I walked in, but that didn’t last long . I actually started a thread on this forum about it yesterday.
BTW. I really like my P320 X5 Legion. Very nice pistol.
