If you rely on the 357 SIG cartridge in at least one defensive handgun, please take this poll.
I have one pistol chambered in 357SIG (that I keep in 357SIG). There is no real reason other than I have it and I have some decent SD rounds for it.

I have a P229 DAK. Great gun that unfortunately doesn't get out of the safe much. Won't ever part with it though.

In SA you're only allowed one handgun specifically licensed for self defense. I've carried a P229 in 357SIG since 1996. I purchased pretty much the first one to come into the country. My current carry round is a 53gr THV. Out of a 229 you get a velocity of around 2 570 fps. Puts one pretty much at short-barrel 5.56 performance.

My carry pistol is a G32 in .357 Sig. I pocket carry, exchangeably, a G43, or P365 in 9X19, as well.
The .357 Sig is represented in my safe in the P320, P226, P229, P239, G31, G32, and G33, with a few multiples. My normal carry cartridge for the .357 Sig is the Sig V-crown 125 gn.
I also have a G35 with a .357 Sig conversion barrel, and a few other .357 Sig conversion barrels for various pistols.
For the G32 and a few others, I have conversion barrels to .40 and 9mm, for less expensive practice with the same pistol.

Here I thought I was in a small group of 357 sig fans and that the cartridge was heading for the bone yard. I have noticed fewer 9 mm pills for these than previously, I could not afford factory ammo for the volumes of 357 sig I shoot. I love the cartridge have 2 229s and should get a 226 in it. Maybe next year. Glad to see other makes and models available. A 1911 in 357 sig, hmmmmm. I alternate between one of my 229s and an N frame snubby in 357 mag for carry. Did I mention that I love the 357 sig?

Currently: P226 P229 P220 converted to P357 by GGI.
Next to purchase: P239 and P320 in .357 Sig.
Note that I rarely pracice with the .357. I two barrels for the P226 and P229. The recoil is only slightly more than 9mm, so I shoot 9mm to reduce costs. Actually I typically only shoot a P320 or P239. The P226 and P229 are mostly safe queens and relegated for HD.This message has been edited. Last edited by: c1steve,
