So I seem to have some interest in this 9mm pistol. I have found two differant SQU numbers E2022-9-BSS and SGE2022-9-BSSE, with the latter being more expensive.

I can't see what the differance between these two pistols is, the specs I see seem to be the same. Hopfully someone here can enlighten me, I've tried differant search methods, no luck.

Thanks for any info!

SIG has been known to throw end users a few curve balls when it comes to the various model number letter designations, but if I'm reading those correctly then the second model number may indicate it was designated for a government contract that comes standard with three (3) standard capacity mags... but, I'd suggest waiting for input from other members or just contacting the seller and verifying before purchase.

I used to own a SP2340 SIG Pro and it was a great gun. Let us know if you buy the 2022 and welcome to the forum!

My first Sig was a Sigpro sp2340 in 2004. Liked it enough, but sold it to get a 229 TT and didn’t have any interest in the Pro until a couple years back I found one at my local shop for a decent price. It’s still NIB and sometimes I forget I have it with all the other stuff I shoot. I think you’d like it as they are very well built and I have yet to hear anything really negative about them. I think they can hang with the other polymer framed hammer fired pistols out there including the P-07, USP/P30, etc.

Sometimes a pic helps to push a buyer over the ledge and it has me several times so here’s mine to perhaps sway you in the “right” direction.

I have not seen the latter sku. The former includes German and Exeter-made models BSS for SIG Sights. They have seemed to hold their value surprisingly well and cherry picking can be rewarding. It's nice to see those for sale with internal extractors and the setback slide stop from the German contracts. The blue sticker on the box is a good sign. If the (Special Group?)E2022-BSSE (Extra mag) is anything different I would be surprised. Good hunting.

The specs for both indicate 2 15 round mags included.

SigSentry, what does the blue sticker on the box indicate? Also not sure what you mean by "cherry picking".

While at my LGS, the used case has an SP2022.... with a slide mounted safety!!!! Wowzahs!!!

Played with it for 5 minutes. I lost interest immediately when, determining the reset point, the trigger stayed at the reset point when I let go all the way to double pull distance. Shame.

Outstanding pistol and hidden gem of the Sig line. Classic P series have aluminum alloy frames wearing against SS steel slides. If you've ever worn a Sig frame rail to dull gray, you known your in trouble. The SP2022 has steel rail inserts so, steel on steel. Very durable pistol, excellent da/sa gun.

A Sigpro (sp2022) with this box/ sticker will indicate a German frame. Possibly imported ( triple serial #), or imported and assembled in US. There was even a batch of SP2009 slides matched with new slide assemblies.

Cherry picking could mean an underpriced German made. I don't own any Exeter made sigpros so I'm biased.

Very underrated guns since the day they've been around. They are typically 100% reliable, as accurate as most any other defensive gun and if you prefer, or at least don't mind, the DA/SA action, it's an absolutely fantastic pistol in its size.

I was able to find a 9mm and 40SW with standard bar/dot sights. Wonderful single action trigger and superb accuracy. This design is remarkably soft shooting. The 40 feels like a 9.

OP, I can’t shed any light on your question about SKUs.

What I will say is that I poo-poo’d the SIGPRO when it first came out. Said SIG was stupid to go polymer but keep the DA/SA. Although I might argue that I was right thy they should’ve done striker at that point, what I missed was what a great pistol it is.

I finally got one just because they were blowing them out at $350. Immediately the pistol made me eat crow. First mag, including first DA pull (albeit only 7 yards):

Same range session my buddy had a zombie bleeding torso target. After shooting it up, my buddy said, let’s see who can hit one of the paintballs. Since I was doing well, he thought he’d humble me and made me go first. Popped it one shot (again 7 yards). Helluva fine pistol. It’s relegated to nightstand duty these days, preferring the P320 or P365, but still think it’s a damned fine pistol.

Nope you find one that suits you.

Pic for the sake of pics:

BuddyChryst, that's some fine shooting! I sure wish the stainless slide version was still available, and at $350!

Timing is everything.

SGE2022-9-BSSE appears to be a run of SIGPros sold specifically by RSR Group, a US firearms distributor. The price difference likely reflects the surcharge one would see from a dealer buying a gun from distributor and not direct from the manufacturer.

As to WHY RSR got a specific run of SP2022s from SIG...that we'll probably never know. It could be anything from a production overrun that SIG offered to them, to a peace offering because that distributor felt slighted by SIG showing preferential treatment to another distributor, or anything you can image in-between. It's still all about business after all, and these sorts of deals and agreements occur quite often. Even our shop has been the recipient of quietly done, below the radar special offers and deals from manufacturers, especially when we've been throwing a significant amount of purchases their way, or sometimes even when we complain about missed/delayed product delivery scheduling.

As for actual physical differences between the two SKUs; let's just say that it would NOT surprise me if they were the same model, only one has a "special" SKU created for that distributor that reflects a specific deal made between the two parties.
