Beretta Cougar 8040D
Picked up a very clean Beretta 8040D Cougar recently and checked the serial number on the Beretta site...

Model: SPEC0336A
Product Description: @8040D COUGAR TRJ MOD DIS LEV
Approximate Manufacture Date: 1999

Does anyone know what the "TRJ MOD DIS LEV" means?

Thanks!

I believe its a low profile takedown button that's flush with the frame to prevent a John Wu style snatch and grab of a slide of a frame, a la Hollywood. This was a thing back then...I have one on one of my Beretta's (have to push in with a pen or key to push in past the frame edge).

Man I knew I could count on the SF knowledge base!

I does have Trijicon night sights and the take down lever is very flat, not like a 92 lever.

Thanks!

The best part is... I can now shoot the snot out of this thing. Looks like it's not some super special limited edition ultra collectible safe queen. LOL
