I got my stainless VBOB as a birthday gift from my wife. It was used and has the idiot scratch on the frame from the slide release, but the price was an absolute steal and it shoots like a dream. In a perfect world I'd have one in 9mm and .38 Super. I can't recommend them VBOB enough. I've never owned or fired an Ed Brown or Wilson Combat 1911, but I don't think I could justify the expense over the VBOB. However YMMV.

You've got that right! Four and counting. The V-Bob may well be by favorite. It really is a great gun.

The V-Bob is very much alive and well. It is a fine DW model. I have 5 DW's and counting.

Used DW are rare in my area. Depending on price, buy it.

DW is an excellent firm with outstanding customer service.

I could never think of selling my DW.

As it turns out the pistol is a Classic CBOB rather than a Valor. It is in pristine condition and obviously was well cared for. It is roll marked CZ and Dan Wesson.

When did CZ divest itself of the DW 1911 platforms? Downsides to the CZ pistols?

Dan Wesson is still owned and distributed by CZ.

I have a classic vbob. It came as a 10mm with a match dw 40sw barrel. So I can shoot two calibers from it. The 40sw was great to shoot. Could move a can around with each shot at 50 feet. EAch and every shot. I don't seem to be able to do that with my other guns. Including custom colt 70 series tuned 1911s

My 5" Valor is my favorite gun to shoot. Extremely well made, accurate, and reliable.

Things I don't like: The stipling on mine was super sharp. The first or second range trip drew blood, though it has dulled over time. The overtravel adjustment hole in the trigger was also very sharp at first. The gun is so tight that you need a bushing wrench to take it down. Also the stock grips were much too slim for me, but that was easily fixed.

I bought the CBOB about 7 years ago.
Only 'repair' was to replace the night sights a year ago.

Outstanding rendition of the 1911. Initially I thought the cut-off rear corner was a gimmick.

What proved to be a most accurate pistol also is most comfortable in any load recipe or length of string I have wanted to shoot. It carries well too, with the trimmed rear corner.

I wouldn't trade it for a footlocker full of Gl*cks regardless of their virtues.

C-Bobs are solid citizens. Here are a couple of examples. You would not be disappointed in a nice speciman. Frankly, I prefer them over the V-Bobs.

The second gun down in the picture I posted above is a 2009 CBOB. It's been flawless as have all my DWs.

I'm a bit confused when you say it's rollmarked both CZ and DW. You can check your serial number against the info here to find the year it was made: https://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=130599

It looks just like the stainless pistol of the two pistols above by Cobra21. In small roll marks on the right side of the frame beneath the slide, it says both CZ and Dan Wesson. The serial number begins with CZ13...

Another trip to the shop is in order, this time with a camera. Thanks.

Haven't had a commander length in some time so I wisely got rid of any and all leather I had for such. Got to order new holsters too.

I made a deal on the 2010 DW Classic "CBOB". Now to find an iwb holster and a bunch of ammo.

Nice. I think you'll be very happy. Run what you like, but Keith at DW will recommend FP-10 and a liberal supply of it at that.
