I found a W. German P220 in the original case with all the paperwork, in great condition.
I'm excited- I had a couple in the past that got sold to pay bills, including a BDA, and a 'Hawes Import' version...
I love these old Sigs.

Wow, great deal! I felt good about a W. German P226 in what appeared to be un-fired condition for $550 over a decade ago.

Congrats on getting a great pistol. I picked one up a few months ago and love it.

Very happy for you! Congrats! I got my W. German off this forum for $450, and it's amazingly accurate. Trigger pull is so good that I messaged the SF member I bought it from and asked if he'd had a trigger job done. He hadn't. It's just that good.

I'm sentimental toward the P220 because it was my second duty weapon back when I was a kid in the mid-90s. I've considered selling mine to fund another project, but I just can't let the thing go.

I don't own a 1911, and my 1911 friends always ask me, "Why don't you buy a 1911?" My reply is always the same. "Why do I need a 1911 when I already own the world's best .45?" Cool

BTW, we need pics!

Cool!

I'm always on the lookout for an extra P220. I think I need just one more...

I wondered when you posted the price, but figured there's no way it could be; but it really is a small world. I had a deal to buy that gun on Wednesday night. The seller told me he was closed yesterday but I could call today and make a down payment (I was going to do the 60 day lay away.) When I called this evening to pay the lady said the gun had been sold Mad

I emailed the owner of the shop after talking to whoever the lady was who answered the phone and of course he won't respond to me Mad

Oh yeah- our county guys had the option of a 220 after the academy- they had to carry either a 226 or a 228...A couple guys had pimped-out 220's with hard chrome and wood grips with the PD crest inlaid in them. Us city cops had to carry S&W 6906's and then Glocks...the few of us that were 'gun guys' were jealous.
When I worked plain clothes narcotics I carried a 220 often, as as policy read that for plain clothes work our 'issued weapon' had to be within access- which to me meant in the glove box and the sig in my pants.

Damn, that's a good-looking classic P220!
It doesn't even appear as if the hammer, lower slide, or any other parts have gone plum yet. Cool

With the frame update, rebounding hammer and original grips, no less. That’s a clean example of a P220 right in what many consider the sweet spot of production. You did very well, enjoy!

One mag looks to be a Promag or other meh aftermarket, but it's still a must buy at $450.

Beautiful 220- just last year I was forced into taking a new duty weapon; a new P220R to replace my well worn, well loved 1994 vintage, triple serial 220 (P226XXX). I happily carried that old beastie for 23 years. It received a Birdsong and assoc. Black-T coating in around 2000 and was slick as could be until the day it was mailed off to become paperweights. Enjoy your classic Sig.

I have that gun. I think I paid $600 and change for it new in 1995. I have since had Robar NP3 it for me and have put countless thousands of rounds through it. It really only gets better, the more I shoot it.
