I have a CPO P229 that has a stamping on the right side of the receiver above the serial number. It's NPD XXXX. Anyone know what this means? My assumption is that it's an agency property number.....
Thanks in advance for any help.

Please provide more information in your title. It is too vague.

Arc.

Possibly Newark PD inventory number. I believe other SF members have a couple of them.

Thanks Yooper,
I had heard that mentioned somewhere. Was just trying to confirm. It looks like it was factory stamped. I guess if it was really important I could call Sig but it's just idle curiosity.
