I bought the P226 Pro-cut over the MK25 for the optics-ready slide. Been waiting for the 3 MOA version of the EFLX to become available, now in stock I picked one up this morning. Removed the slide cut filler and using the supplied screws mounted the sight without issue. But here is what I'm questioning, the sight fits against the front of the cut but there is about a 32nd inch gap between the back of the sight and the back of the slide cut. Is this normal? Both the gun and sight are "Delta Point Pro" foot print, I would expect the sight to fit the opening just about perfect without any extra room. Any issue or nothing to worry about?

I watched a review of the EFLX and they mounted it on a Shadow Systems MR920 and had the same complaint. ........................................... All I've had all day is like six gummy bears and some scotch...

No idea, but how does the EFLX do recoil mgmt? It looks like it requires bosses if one looks at the bottom of it online. I have an ungodly amount of experience on the RMR and those vary in size (its a casting) that any cut made to the average dimensions will have fit problems over a range of them. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

Interesting, I had been wondering if Sig was making there sights a bit longer in hopes of selling there brand over the competition. Fitment aside how did they feel about the EFLX?

Excuse my ignorance but when you say "requires bosses", would that be like pegs or dowels?

Not an optic mounting professional by any means but I always thought that was to be expected for a factory milled slide? Since there are so many optic options as well as slight variances even between same brand/model optics. That where would be a little slop I guess you would call it. Having my non optic ready 320 slide milled as we speak and my guy mills to the provided optic for a precise fit. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. I'm not sure what's normal in the pistol optic world. I have a P229 pro-cut slide and both the DPP and Sig Romeo1 pro fit the cut with no gaps at all. The slide is cut to also fit the RMR but that optic doesn't fit exactly. I suppose 'footprint' means it will fit but it won't necessarily fit as precisely as if it were milled for the individual optic. I'd say just shoot it.

yes. My experience is all RMR and in the official mounting print for the RMR they require two 3.9mm high circular posts that match corresponding holes in the bottom of the optic. The Eotech looks like it has similar holes on the bottom. I've mounted dozens and dozens of rmr's and I've learned way too much about the factory tolerances on size which are quite large because that was not part of the design to handle recoil. The problem for companies that mill to your optic is that the replacement optic (and there will be a replacement optic) may not fit depending on the relative dimensions of the two. Its not a huge problem when the new optic is a bit bigger as you simply file a bit. But when its much smaller the whole point of milling to the first optic is lost. But in all this I have had some RMR's mounted on cuts that did not include the bosses and the sheeer force is on the screws and there doesn't seem to be a big problem in doing that. I've only experienced a tiny amount of screw issues. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

I looked into the varying length of these sights. Delta point pro 1.8" Romeo1pro 1.83" Romeo2 1.84" Eotech 1.9" I was rather surprized to see the Eotch actually being longer than Sig's sights and the Delta Point Pro. The next thing was a phone call to Sig's customer service department. The man I talked with said there were no included bosses with the Sig sights, and they were held in place with the two supplied fasteners. So with nothing else to go on, I'm just not going to be concerned about it.

I just bought the S&W 5.7 handgun and a Holosun 507k and is the same. The cut is bigger than the red dot but, the slide have 2 extended post that "grab" the front of the red dot, so I'm not concerned. I need to go shoot it and see what happens "What I would die for? If I remember correctly, when Aroon Cowan tested the Walther PDP with a Holosun attached to the slide, he had the same observation. The cut was bigger than the RD, not touching the back of the cut and the slide had no slugs to hold the RD. After the drop test he performed, the RD didn't move or lost zero. I think that with the selection of RDs, gun manufacturers are trying to cater all RD manufacturers. "What I would die for? My faith, my family, my friends, my freedom and my flag" Tony Zinni

I'm helping a friend with a 320 AXG for which sig puts holes in the slide that are RMR sized but the optic is shorter than the slide cut. It simply will not hold zero for any length of time. You can see the gap. There's an aftermarket fix of a plate. But I'd certainly want to make sure whatever I am mounting survives for awhile on the mounting system provided before trusting it. And that wouldn't be a drop test, it would be like 5k rounds. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”
