I've notified CS via email. They have a posting that responses are very delayed due to you know what.

I know breakages sometimes happen. But Meprolight touts (or at least implies) that there's toughness and durability with their FT Bullseye system. Rather annoying, given the context of their marketing. I have that sight on a G19 but can't confirm that it's a rough and tumble type of sight. I can't stand the damn thing because of what it does to a Glock's standard POA and sight picture. In the 3 or so yrs that it's been on that gun I've only shot the poor thing 3 times because of how much I detest a 'combat' hold on any of my Glorps. On my long list of gun stuff that I need to change out...

Happened to my wife's P238. Sig said send it back and they can get it back to her in 3-5 weeks or they could send one back and I could pay a gun smith to install it. Was quite disappointed and haven't bought a new Sig since then. That was in 2017 and I won't buy a new one again.

I'm a forgiving sort, and haven't had trouble with a gun in 20 years or more. Hopefully they will fix it. Otherwise, I'll get a mount and put a Romeozero on it. Not like I'm short of guns. Meantime, I broke the Shield back out. I'll report back on Sig CS as they respond.

My standard factory x-ray front sight started slowly dimming to near nothing like a tire with a slow leak and Sig did the fix before all the Covid shit went down. I don’t know if Tru-glo QC (That’s who I hear produces them) is to blame or perhaps the shorter slide stroke is a little harder on them but it seems to happen at a higher rate that the larger guns with standard Trijicon or Meprolight sights installed. Good luck with getting it fixed.

The response was a phone call. The sight isn't dead after all. I removed the plastic panel housing the light tube, wiped it and the area it fits in down, and all was well. Apparently lubricant had seeped under the sight.

Now I know!

The guy also indicated the intended range of this gun was 7 to 10 feet.

I can accurately hit the target with mine out to 15 yards easily. It does take a slow and deliberate aim.

Did the Sig rep say 7 to 10 feet , or 7 to 10 yards ?

I know the sights are supposed to be fast to use, but if an assailant, presumably armed and shooting at you is 7 feet away, are you really going to be lining up a dot in a circle?

Feet. I made him repeat it.

I don’t get the appeal of this sight. At all.

Who needs ANY sights at 7-10 feet?
