My hypocrisy goes only so far

Two weeks ago I finally got off the mark & bought a 365 two tone. After a couple range trips I added the flat trigger & fell in love .
I’ve been wanting to add a pistol with an RMR but couldn’t make up my mind.
Stopped in at Miller’s Gun Supply in Sugarcreek, where I bought my first 365, while out in the motorhome this weekend and got my hands on the 365X.
Wow, really didn’t expect to I’d like it that much or that the small differences between the two grip modules would be that much of an improvement.

So two weeks, two p365”s !
I would like to know from folks that have experience with this setup, what’s the real world battery life expectancy?
I’ve read 20k hours. I am guessing you keep the sight turned off when not carrying it but is there a battery swap schedule folks recommend to stay ahead of the curve?

This is my first pistol with anything other than iron sights as a sighting system so any advice is welcome on getting cozy with a red dot on a pistol.

The odds are the Romeo Zero will die long before the battery does. No way around it, they're a cheap plastic POS. The good news is, Sig will replace it with another cheap plastic POS when it dies.

What made you chose the P365X as your second 365 vs the 365XL? I did something similar a few months ago and went with the XL. I decided if I was going with the larger frame I would get the benefits of the longer slide as well. Just wondering why someone chose a different route.

About 8yrs ago the State Dept. of Corrections switched to Glock , specifically the G22.
I bought a G27 as a CCW which I still carry.
Two years later the Dept. switched to the G19 Roll Eyes
I wanted a G26 but didn’t see the point in buying one while I was perfectly happy with the G27.
I bought a G19C and love it. Which is why I didn’t see the point of a long slide double stack 9mm.
My plan is to carry the 365 as a pocket 9 & the 365x with RMR as an IWB (& at times OWB) carry gun.
Same trigger & manual of arms seemed like the best way to go.

Different sizes for different tasks.

Got it. It's a reasonable argument. My 365 (actually a SAS model) is primarily used for pocket carry as well. I really don't carry IWB anymore so the XL is marked for OWB or maybe (rarely) shoulder holster carry. I figured the extra barrel length wouldn't hurt and might help in those cases.

Besides, I can always put the short slide on the XL grip for my own X mod. Smile

Started with a standard P365 and loved it. Bought a SAS slide when the front sight on the standard got so blurry as to effect my accuracy. I like the SAS, but it’s not a head shot at 50 feet weapon like the standard was, when I could see it.
Bought the X slide and added a CT1550 red dot. Wow, talk about helping with my eye problems.
Shot IDPA with the little gun and came in 5/35. Not too shabby.
I switch slides depending on my carry position, but honestly, the X slide wins out most days.
I have a Romeo Zero that had to go back to Sig, it now resides on my Kel Tec P17 and hasn’t had another problem. The CT is a little larger and just seems a bit more robust. I also have a RMR on a G17……now THATS robust!
Enjoy your “twins”!

I recently took advantage of Sig's offer and upgraded my P365 with an "X" series upper and a Romeo Zero MRDS. Last week, I acquired a Holosun 507k (Green) and IMHO it's definitely a step up. I'll probably sell my Romeo Zero here in the next few weeks. I carry IWB in a "Milt Spark Summer Special II", and they're a perfect match for comfort, concealability, and practicality.

After some looking at a bunch of reviews I ordered a HS407k x2 w/ 6moa dot .
Can’t get behind a 2moa circle dot on a concealed carry pistol.
This way I’ll be able to compare it & the Romeo side by side.
Anyone have one of these 407 ?

I just bought that same unit and mounted to a 365x slide on top of a 365 frame. Since it is smaller than my other red dots, the first outing was a little slow and not as on spot as I would have liked. But a couple of sessions later and it is dialed in and it is on my primary carry gun. I am impressed so far with the build quality and the optics. I really like it. I was hesitant to buy it at first (China) but it really is the best option for direct mounting to the 365 platform.

I had to replace my battery , 365xl with Romeo zero within a month of purchase but since then , 13 months it has been solid. I check minimum every morning and it has been carried every day since. The factory battery must have been a dud.

My 407 arrived today. Mounted & boresighted it.
Didn’t care for the stark white lettering in the logo so I removed it & acid darkened the laser etching.

I like it. I just got a regular P365 last week and like it so much I’m considering the X as well with a Holosun 407K. I like what you did with the lettering, looks good.
