You lucked out on this one. Don't make the same mistake twice. If you bought it, you wouldn't separate the parts. You'd keep it as a whole firearm. Think about it- you're going to buy it, then take the upper off the frame- and then do what with the frame? Sell it? For how much? Fifty bucks? Who would want it? Unless you sold it locally, there's overnight shipping costs, then cost to the buyer to have a shop receive the part for them and then it's no longer a bargain for the buyer, and that's assuming that the frame is a functional part at all, which you do not know at this point. Do what with the upper? Buy a P228 frame? For how much? And that's if you can find one when you are looking, and why was that P228 frame you'd be looking for separated from its upper? It wouldn't be new, meaning you again risk buying a pig in a poke. You would end up regretting it- again. And it wouldn't take very long for you to reach that point.

Take the advice of a veteran gun buyer- take your money and find a genuine P228. Post a WTB ad in Classifieds of this forum and get what you really want.

Well, you don't need a spare upper for a P228. What you will need is to change out the two concentric roll pins in the slide every 5000 rounds, and you're just not going to wear out your barrel.
