I picked up a NIB Beretta 21A for cheap this week and immediately started looking for someone to replace the milled in place Beretta factory sights with anything else to provide any sort of sight picture. I love this little pistol, but without a set of reasonable sights you might as well just practice point shooting. I also have someone else who owns an older Beretta 84 that would like to have the sights replaced. Through a search I found a company called Tooltech Gunsight that looks like they use to do this type of work, but is referring me to another gunsmith at AmeriGunUSA (248.343.4854 or info@amerigunusa.com) who do custom work with Trijicon sights. Anyone have any experience with them? Anyone else you would recommend? This is the finished product shown on Tooltech's web page. This message has been edited. What is the soup du jour? |
I would love a set of sights on my 21A. With my Dead Air Mask, it's basically a point shooter. For reference: Edited to add: I wonder if instead of milling two spots for sights, it wouldn't be easier to mill a flat and plate for a micro-red dot. This message has been edited. I Deal In Lead |
I've got a couple of these and yes, it's a point shooter for the most part.

I have a bunch of Bobcats. Also have owned several Tomcats and an Alleycat (the only one that came with proper sights). They're belly guns, never intended to be shot much at the range or for distance. 7yds is optimistic and the machined in sight setup is not even good for that (shoows low). I love my suppressed Bobcats and a "can hold" is about as good as you can expect.

Yes, I have a couple of Bobcats as well. I can guesstimate for minute of can up to about 15 yards with my Old one (mid-80's). I haven't shot the new one much, but I use a Silencerco Sparrow on it and it would take some TALL sights to be useful with the can. I have brick after brick thru the old one, though, and I've only had a couple of misfires, with crappy ammo. A few times I had to carry it for a defensive weapon, and I found the Eley Tenex, although expensive, goes bang every time. I'm told it's hand primed.
